Fan assisted ovens V Conventional

Is there a general rule of thumb for reducing cooking times? OR alternatively do you reduce the heat? and if so by how much?

Hi Desm, Ive got a fan oven, I tend to reduce the heat a little but all ovens vary so im afraid its a case of finding out for yourself really whats best, as a guide line if a recipe says 180 I cook mine at apx 170, or cover what Im cooking with foil or baking paper as fan ovens have a habbit of burning things on the top.

I agree with Andy, I tend to reduce the temp by 10 degrees and always check the food about 5 - 10 mins before the end just in case.
