Hi griffin3 I think it was from Food Heroes, from the East Anglia, Lincolnshire and Midlands episode.

Can anyone confirm which Food Heroes book the recipe comes from? Is it the first book "Rick Stein's Food Heroes" or the second book "Food Heroes - Another Helping"? I need the recipe (inc amounts) quick for a vege dinner party.

Thanks!

I would do any cream cheese, then a few small dices of feta or haloumi.
Or even one of those cheeses that have chilli in them.

I might also add mushrooms and peppers in the tomato sauce.

A side dish of mixed beans or even refried beans could go well too.

Leeks and ricotta lovely combination might try it. My other half not to keen on ricotta. Anyone got any other combination I could put in, not meat though.

Although I am sure Rick didn't actually use bought cannelloni tubes, he used lasagna sheets and rolled his own.

Anyways, with all these, the recipe is there somewhere.

Big Grin The Rick Stein one is vegetarian with tomato and bechamel sauces.

This is a fairly good summary of it, but read through the hints from years ago above too.

What was it he put in his tomato sauce again? Did he just use the basic onion canned tomato reduce method but there was something else he put in and I didn't catch what it was.

Hi eems,

As the recipe cannot be posted here due to copyright and as you can see, has already been deleted once, also that it cannot be sent via email I think that your best bet, as has already been suggested, would be to buy or borrow the book.

If this recipe is the only one that you need lisax, why not check out the library and see if they have it in?

It did look scrummy and I'm going to have a go during the week.

Rick used provelone cheese instead of the gruyere suggested, I've made this recipe and it's absolutely delicious!, I've also done it with mushrooms instead of leeks, which was, if anything, even nicer!

Oooh thanks Karen, I recorded the programme and bought a tub of ricotta, but when I went back to the tape it had been recorded over. I was pondering what else to do with my rcotta and thought I might see if I could find the recipe on the website - so many thanks!
