chinese spring rolls

can anyone tell me where I can obtain the wraps for spring rolls please - I have looked in my local waitrose and tesco (Sandbach & Crewe) but had no luck - regards to all - lesley50 1

it depends... If you want the spring roll wrappers as you get in the takeaway, you can either make them yourself (really not worth the bother, if you ask me, or you can get them ready made, frozen in the Chinese supermarket. I doubt that any mail order company would be able to send them to you (unless you find it in Ocado, or Sainsburys, who deliver temperature-controlled shopping).
The alternative, is to get the Thai/Vietnamese spring roll wrappers, which are sometimes also called 'rice paper', which CAN be sent via mail. Looks like this:

I get mine from Wing Yip in Croydon. I know there's one in Birmingham and they do mail order but not sure what their minimum order/delivery charges are like. I hail from the area you are in but wasn't old enough to be wanting to source Oriental ingredients when I left. Is there a largeish Chinese community in the area? If there is, you may well find a small shop that does oriental products that's used by them. Hope this helps.
