how to make coconut milk

is it possible to make coconut milk from desiccated coconut, I only need a few
spoons and it is such a waste to buy a tin

desiccated coconut is slightly different from coconut milk powder. I would suggest you either went with a coconut milk powder [link] or buy those little tiny tins from the Chinese Supermarket.

Hi Sally, I'm sure it's perfectly possible to do this but I haven't tried it. There's no need to waste a tin though - any excess, pour into an ice cube tray and when frozen, pop the cubes into a plastic bag and seal - then you have "just a little" coconut milk when needed in future. Hope this helps.
