Help -Silverside, Can I roast it?

Thread Starter: lighterlifegirl    Started: Fri 10 Apr 2009    Replies: 2

Kids asked for something different for Easter so I brought beef from Tesco (never buy beef as too expensive to balls up). It is clearly labelled suitable for roasting, cost £11 (so not cheap)but looking for cooking times on here people/chefs do not recommend roasting silverside. What can I do with it, too expensive to braise I think.

PS family likes their beef medium rare and rare

Hi lighterlifegirl -

I think Silverside is best cooked long and slow, but that is my personal preference.

Gary Rhodes Roast Sirloin of Beef recipe (BBC Good Food website), which gives you cooking times.

Use the link to Delia's website, which may be helpful.

Hope you and the kids enjoy. Big Grin
