Gwyneth or no Gwyneth Paltrow this show is plain awful!

If the 1st ep is the taste of what this programme is all about then UKTV Food programme buyers made another rubbish US series purchase along with that utterly rubbish Ace of Cakes - what a waste of money!!!! Roll Eyes

Can the programme schedulers just shelve this show & lock it forever pls!!!

I love this show! But you are right..it is *not* a cooking show and should not be on Food Channel. It is a travelogue and being a shut-in will probably never be able to see or experience Spain. Visits to all the locations is very interesting to me. Great fun being able to travel around with them...but the criticism is correct..the food and cooking are only incidental to the program.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Mine is... Oh dear, oh dear!! You sad, depressing people!! The programme's all about 4 characters having fun exploring food and drink around Spain. What do you want - boring old Fanny Craddock-esque type of programmes all the time? Spain On the Road Again and Ace of Cakes are fun, fun-loving, inspiring, positive, engaging programmes... for those of us who can approach things with an open mind and embrace 'different styles' of food presentation. I hope they make follow-ups... :-)

Was looking forward to watching the programme. What dross. Background music so loud you could hardly hear what was being said. Definately a programme about the personalities (joke) rather than the food. Watched the 1st episde could hardly bring myself to watch the 2nd. but thought it can't be as bad, it was. Switched off after 10mins. Won't be watching again. Horrendous rubbish

We were looking forward to it too, but I agree it was very disappointing.

What made it worse is that I came on here to check out the recipes, and they are incomplete too from what I could see.

I agree with you babsky.

The first episode certainly did not leave me gasping for more. I was ready to switch off after the first segment, but decided to stay with it. Big mistake, it only got worse and 1 hour was much too long.

What was the point of the Spanish linguist and the bald guy? Definitely a case of "Too many people spoiling the broth". Too much talking and not enough cooking.
