I love the heroes but sometimes this seems more about Gary than the people taking part ?

Just watching it now, he got some beautifull smoked eel, smoked trout, and then fried and deep fried them??? why??? what an insult to the man whos smoked them.

I really think one of the farm shops should have won, somebody who produces their own meat, vegetables etc., and then sells it on. I said the same last year, (although I agreed with the milk guy who won) I don't understand Gary's criteria sometimes.

I am really enjoying this programme, Gary Rhodes is presenting it very well, leave the poor man alone!

A fish & chip shop is UKTV Food hero...come on, is that some sort of joke?
I mean I'm sure the place in question is a very good fish & chip shop but it's hardly innovative cooking is it?
I can't help feeling some much better and more worthy businesses were passed over this year.
V dissappointing

I think Lou the butcher was robbed last night - Gary didn't even cook his pork the way he had sent it to be cooked - the restaurant that won was a deserved nomination, but I do think the butcher should have won.

Indeed! As with all things Gary unfortunatley. Rhodes Across India and then China suffered terribly from the man's ego IMO, but then I still find him interesting to watch lol.
As an aside does anyone happen to know what the music used in Local Food Heroes is? been bugging me since the last series.
