Ingredients

Linseeds

Thread Starter: broads    Started: Wed 23 May 2007    Replies: 4

My friend has been told by her doctor to eat linseeds so off she dutifully went and bought some. She now has a bag of these seeds and hasn't a clue how what to do with them. Has anyone any ideas or recipes to get her started? Confused

I eat linseeds every day sprinkled over my muesli. I also put them into homemade seeded bread.

You can soak a tablespoon of linseeds in water overnight. In the morning you can add the swollen seeds to yoghurt or cereal or a smoothie maybe.

they are better for you once they have been ground - can be simply done in a grinder or you can buy them pre-ground. then you can just sprinkle them in cereal, yoghurt, smoothies etc. You can also mix them into mashed potato (although you can see the flecks in it) If she ever makes biscuits or cakes then they can be stirred into that

If she makes her own bread she can put them in there, or she can sprinkle them over salads or steamed green veg.
