Does it actually have to say GM?

Thread Starter: Sanny Anny    Started: Fri 20 Oct 2006    Replies: 2

My husband and I are in disagreement on what modified maize starch means. He says that if it is GM modified that it actually has to say GM modified maize starch in the ingrediants but I say that it the same thing. Does anyone know for sure as I want to try and keep GM foods out of the children's diets as much as possible. Confused

modified maize starch is not a GM product. its a processed maize so the starch can be used as a thickener.

its been used as such for hundreds of years the best known one is corn flour
hope that helps
