Restaurant Makeover

Thread Starter: Lil'Abby    Started: Sat 22 Apr 2006    Replies: 21

Can anyone tell me whether I'm enjoying this or not? Confused I'm in a quandary.

On the one hand I can't stand makeover shows, but on the other hand I love programmes about struggling restaurants making good. Frown

Cheff
Sorry about the delay answering, been on hols. for 2 weeks.
I live in S.E. Essex but most of my Fathers family come from the Cambridge area. My Fathers cousin ran The Weatsheaf pub in Stow-cum-Quy for years and the rest were in the Histon area and a few round Chesterton.
I was weaned on Abbot from the wood and St. Edmunds ale. Mix the two half and half for real looney brew Hic.

Lil'Ab - am not, but like you say, it makes no difference anyway. Maybe Nuits goes to the wrong restaurants, not like some of us!!! And lets not mention the war!!!

Big Grin Yes Mr battleship but it involves "FOOD" and may give some of our restaurants in Britain an a waking and a kick up the backside and help raise their standards which wouldn't be a bad idea. Ps, the last pockett battleship i can remember SUNK.

Angry i must disagree with Cheff and pockett battleship about their comments on Restaurant Makerover it's great program, obviously they don't get out much and have a very boring life. one of the best shows in years. i have friends who own their own restaurant which has won various awards and they love it.

hepp today there are loads of new ones beeing shown, i think its quite an innovative idea, best makeover type of programme yet methinks, i am pleased that on the one i am watching right now that david got the huge chunk of money for the kitchen (irish inn)

i agree igor makes me laugh too, he loves to argue lol Big Grin

I do really love this little programme - easy watching - I am finding the actual workmen the funniest people on it!! Egor (I imagine that is NOT how its spelt) is hilarious!! I also like that male chef - David - he always does a proper re-vamp of the kitchen and always turns the most shockingly unclean kitchens into a fit place to prepare food - amd he always magics an excellent piece of equiptment from somewhere. I do like it when they don't like the rennovation - but that's quite rare...ha ha Wink Shame about those penalties yesterday...was cheering the Hammers - but it was a good final

I quite like this, although I find one of the designers irritating. I noticed today they condensed the programme into 30 minutes which I thought was better.

Oh, I don't know - I wish somebody would come and give my restaurant a makeover - especially if it was FREE Big Grin Everything to do with restaurants seems to cost a fortune, and doesn't last very long either Cry

Cheff - totally agree - we keep getting these rubbishy Canadian programmes (e.g. Wild and Fresh etc). We want food programmes on the food channel.

I am watching it in bits, I think if I was into DIY I may find it interesting. Not sure what the channel is trying to achieve putting this program on the food site.
Health and Safety seems to be Very Relaxed !!!!

I would rather see a re-run of Mr ramsey on kithcen fron hell.
