Someone told me to half fill with salt. Heat up for 10 minutes then throw salt away, oil pan and then you can start to cook.
Is this true?

That certainly is true, I saw them doing it on Food Uncut, the chef, can't remember his name now, also said never EVER put it in the dishwasher!
