What's on Good Food Channel

What do you think about our scheduling?

Thread Starter: VictoriaG    Started: Mon 09 Jan 2006    Replies: 379

We want to know what you think about our schedules in the New Year!

We think we've got lots to tempt you, from Rick Stein at 9pm through January, to our new programmes Food Uncut and Florida Fatbusters - but the proof as they say, is in the pudding.

Patrick, our scheduler, would like to hear from you - so let us know what you think!

That looks like great fun Ms Wynnie. But as you are not having any luck with your current approach that would suggest to me you should try a different avenue. Approaching the TV channel is the least productive as they do not produce shows (although they do sometimes commission them)

May I suggest you put together a coherent package and send off to various production companies directly such as Optomem. Keep it professional and you'll be very surprised the repsonse you may get!

I think if Ms Wynnie is who she says that she is then I, for one, would love to see her on the TV again.

Good luck again Ms Wynnie !!!!!!!!!!! Big Grin

Ha! Big Grin I would certainly be willing to watch a pilot of yours if you're the one I'm thinking of.

Just watch the end credits of any new food show (such as Market Kitchen). The casting directors, producers, commissioning executives and others are all lised. If I were you I'd send your demo to as many names as possible. They may find a spot on one of these reality cooking shows.

It only takes one!

Good luck.

THAT would be a definite improvement over the current crop, wouldn't it! Fresh, innovative, entertaining. It would have it all in well fell swoop.

Brilliant!

Hopefully she's had her screen test and is ready to take over the reins from Matthew Fort next week!

FINALLY!! The perfect idea for a replacement to Market Kitchen that everyone's been looking for!! That would have REAL entertainment value.

Go for it Ms Wynnie!

Hi Carloine and or who ever is there from UKTV food.
Please could you furnish me with an email address for Patrick or who ever commisions.
I am a drag queen chef, sort of Fanny Craddock-ish and wish to forward a Pilot. I snail mailed one to the channel but as yet havnt even had confirmation it was recieved

I wouldn't worry about it Old Thatch, I imagine you'd probably get the same programme over and over and over again during the few hours you do have, rather 24 hours of the same old stuff. Develish

I have freeview with top up and WAS able to watch UKTV Food for three hours a day only. In October the freeview top up system changed. If I want to watch UKTV Food for one hour only I have to buy a new box and pay an increased monthly rate. I have tried to contact UKTV Food for an explanation but to no avail. I live in a conservation area so am not allowed a sky dish nor is cable available. So that's me and many others like me without UKTV Food now. Any plausible comments please?!

Celia Brooks Brown happens to be extremely busy! What makes you think she has nothing to do??

American Pie

Just started watching UKfood so forgive me if I am wrong but there are no vegetarian programs. If any type of cooking needed a helping hand from experts it is veggie.

Celia Brooks Brown probably has nothing to do - you could ask her.

One program I watched several years ago was an American chef and English lady who produced a quick (1/2 hour) recipe from each US state. I think I saw every episode.

Does anyone know, does Caroline still work for UKTVslops? Still wondering, as you are getting continual complaints, why are you still doing stacks? Do we really have to carry out the threat regards STACKS (not pepeats, they're everywhere, STACKS)

Been on holiday, returned, tuned it....well, well....some more new programs! Congrats, I think you're really improving. Everyday Italian and now this very interesting guy...Tyler's Ultimate. Like both of these new programs. Please bring more from the US: Paula Dean, she's a winner; this very charming Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals, we need that! and please, please bring Malto Mario. And Bobby Flay, he can really teach us some new things. Again, congrats, it's getting better. Oh one other thing....hate the weekend stacks.

Was in Dom Rep for 2 weeks and actually thought about Rick Stein and watching his programmes. Little did I know about the weekend. Loads of RS. Wish I was still on holiday now.

The Contessa & Mario, i have enjoyed watching them very much. Now can you keep it up, i hope so. I think if it wasn,t for G F L i wouldn,t bother turning the t v over to your channel, there really must be something that can be done to improve this repetative situation, before you loose all your veiwers. It would be a real shame if that happened. Cry

I have just looked at the programmes for Bank Holiday Monday. I cannot believe it is a stack again from Rick Stein.
Surely even he is getting fed up of the coverage. Angry
He jokes that Padstow is often called PadStein. Then we must change UKFood to UKfoodStein

Caroline, Stacks, why are they still with us? surely enough people have said they are turning off due to weekend stacks, PLEASE stop, or at least answer this question

Caroline H - UKTV

Hello everyone,
Sorry I haven't been around for a while. Ive been on holiday, as well as generally busying around in the background. I'm glad some of you are enjoying the new shows from the states. Weekends have been mixed up a little but clearly there's still work to be done.
As I said before, there are some great new shows to look forward to over the next few months, including another Rachel's Favourite Food (series 3), and shows with James Martin and Mike Robinson, plus the Food Heroes judging.
There was a good post on one of the other boards about fave chefs. Things like this are really useful for me when it comes to feeding back. I now do a weekly update of what's going on on the boards - progress may be slow but voices are being heard! Caroline Smile

seaneeboy, you miss the point, its one request that I has been posted, stop the stacks, its taken so long, to no avail, that it is actually quicker to create a new human life, and a lot more fun too!

I note there seems to be no comment from the uktv moderater, why? I hope that its still all above board, and declared,

Would really love to see Giada De Laurentis on UK TV food - and maybe some Bill Granger re-runs! oh and as dmarkl says - Paula Dean!!! Pleaaaaase
