With Christmas approaching we are trying to decide on a starter using Goats Cheese for Christmas lunch as we are having all the family around! I saw a great recipe that Silvana Franco did on The Best but after looking everywhere for it I can't find it. It used cranberry sauce I think but am not too sure. Could anyone help out? I'd be grateful for any help and it could save the day too!

How about simply lightly toasting a round of thin white bread, rubbing with a bit of garlic and topping with a slice of goats cheese, pop it in the oven or under a preheated grill till melted and oozing. Serve on mixed salad leaves with a balsamic dressing and top the goats cheese with a dollop of red onion marmalade (slowly browned sliced red onions, redcurrant jelly, red wine vinegar and fresh thyme: reduce till thick and sticky). Yum!
