Has anyone got any recipes for couliflower cheese or macaroni cheese for a 5 month old, or any other recipes for that matter?

Hi there Greedytee, all advice is good advice thanks but my health visitor told me to start early, he is a big lad bless him and I was back to two hourly feeds day and night so I had to do something to fill his not so little tummy! I never thought os cooking the cauli in milk, thanks for that! Also thanks cheeky girl, i will definately give them a go. i have not tried ice cream yet, we had a youghurt yesterday and that was funny as he tried to get used to the hot and cold! You are right, it is a fantastic time and the messes are worth it, especially after he snezzed spinach and salmon over me!

Annabel Karmel has some very tasty recipes in all her Complete Baby and Toddler Books.
A favourite of my son's was mashed avocado and cottage cheese. He loved it! He wore it too..... Also avocado and banana were a success....
Speaking of cauliflower, there was recipe I used to do which contained cauli, red pepper and sweetcorn. Cook equal amounts and blend in a mouli and stir through some of baby's usual milk.
You could also try the Heinz baby food web site, they have some inspirational recipes. Such a fun stage for baby to be at. I loved all the pureeing (if there is such a word) and trying my babies on different flavours and textures. - Have you given your baby icecream yet? - When you do make sure you have a camera at the ready, the facial expressions are memorable! Enjoy this stage, it doesn't last long...

I used to cook caulifower gently in full cream milk, blend and then add a little cheese but it's worth mentioning that babies under 6 months old really only need breastmilk and maybe a little gluten free cereal. Sorry to be the baby food police!

You don't need to make a white sauce for cauliflower cheese. Just cook the cauliflower and blend it with grated cheddar cheese. My grandchildren all loved it.

Cook some macaroni as normal, steam cauliflower.Make a white sauce ( no salt) add grated cheese to sauce.Pour over cauli and macaroni or pasta, blend untill it is the right consistency for baby.
