Dorset Cottage Foods

Thread Starter: Back to simple old Nick again :)    Started: Tue 18 Oct 2005    Replies: 15

Hi All

Just a quick note to say that we have now sold Dorset Cottage Foods as of today at 4.30 - So I'm off to the Pub and I don't have to be sober to cook tomorrow (cute)

But seriously folks !!! Thank you to everyone who has helped us and bought from us and well... everything that you have done. The new owner Erika Watt was one of our stockists and has taken the whole range on, and will keep it GF, Vegetarian and the same recipes. She has a bigger kitchen and has a small holding where she can grow her own vegetables and use them in the preserves. So Dorset Cottage Foods will now go from strength to strength. Erika, most importantly is also a Chef and understands the importance of taste and not money mad !!

So Thank you again

Cheers

Nick and Sue

Back to simple old Nick again :)

Thanks guys - I feel quite sad in one way, but there has been a huge perk this week - Sue has gone to France for the week and left me with the kids, and I actually had time for them - No shouting (OK apart from oi stop that) and we have been doing things and playing games. I haven't been shouting because I have so much work to do or the accounts or labelling or ...... ANYTHING - Role on crappy bod, that's what I say - There are good and bad sides to having a bit of a rubbish bod Cheeky

My next venture will definitely NOT be catering, for 2 reasons.
1) I am exhausted and I could never do that again
2) In the contract to sell the business I had to sign saying I would not do this again for 5 years
Oh dear oh my what a shame Big Grin

Next year I have decided that we are going to spend 3 weeks in the South of France with my family and drive my Bongo around France as well!!!

Thanks to you all though for tips/advice and support when I have been sitting by the computer at 11 at night wondering about things. I will have time to talk on here again - And look at me now - I am spouting off again !!! Inane dribble for hours and no one to stop me Develish

Oh hang on I can here a beer calling me from the fridge - Cheers

Nick

I wish Erika all the luck in the world with developing your 'baby' Nick.

I hope you and Sue and the kids can move on to new things now. I just wish you happy and as healthy as it is possible for you to be xxx

Back to simple old Nick again :)

It is sad in a way as we have grown our baby up from scratch (Does that sound right??) and it will be nice for me and my Health, I now have a few more probs than before (Hey Ho - Life is too short to worry about them) and Erika can at least grow DCF up into what it really should be. She has a large kitchen, a small holding and will be using her own produce, which is what we were aiming for next year, but sadly we could not do.

I have only been able to cook 30 or 40 hours a month in the last few months, and the orders are getting bigger and Erika seemed the right way forward - She is also a Chef and used to work at Langans Brasserie, so she understands the requirements.
