British Food Fortnight ? Tastings and A Lunch
A two-week celebration of real British food and drink begins on September 24th and runs through to October 9th. The event is aimed at making us aware of the diverse and delicious range of food available in Britain and of the health benefits and pleasures of eating quality, fresh, seasonal and regionally-distinct produce. Check out the website for further details - [link]
At Jimmy?s Farm, we are inviting our customers to come along on Saturday 24th September to a tasting day in the farm shop. Between 10.00am and 2.00pm, you will be able to sample products from some of the best local and regional producers in the country and try our sausages and bacon. So, please, come along and give your taste buds a treat!! The shop is open from 9.00am to 6.00pm and we have a special offer on at the moment ? spend over £10 and get a signed copy of Jimmy?s book ?On The Farm? for only £10! This offer is also applicable to the on-line shop.
Jimmy will also be supporting British Food Fortnight at a celebration lunch at 12.30pm on Sunday 9th October at The Plough in Shepreth. He will be joined by Paul Kelly of Kelly Turkeys and they will be talking about their passion for British food and the advantages of buying regionally sourced produce.
Jimmy Doherty and Simon Day, proprietor of The Plough, are old school friends who share a passion for food. Since opening in September 2004, The Plough has gained a reputation for its freshly prepared food and outstanding service. Jimmy?s sausages make a regular appearance on the menu and both Essex Pig Company pork and Kelly Bronze turkey will feature on a special menu on the 9th.
The special three course Sunday Lunch Menu on October 9th will be £25 per person and places are limited so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment!! You can call Simon or Luciana to book a table.More information and directions to The Plough can be found at [link]
