Cooking in advance

Thread Starter: THIYANGA    Started: Mon 13 Jun 2005    Replies: 9

Help!! I am cooking for friends on Friday, and want to make a lasagne with lamb mince. Problem is I don't have any time to make it on friday, and was wondering how much of it I could do in advance- say the day before??! Will it still be as good? Confused

Me too. Just do everything as you would normally do using all the bits you would use as though you where making it to cook to eat without freezing but as said just leave off the grated cheese.

I've used them, and it's worked out fine for me! Smile

Thanks so much for your feedback! Sorry to keep going on about it, but do you know if this works with those no cook dry lasagne sheets, and also if I can cook from frozen!

Hubby always thinks it is better once frozen and defrosted so I always make double the amount and freeze half. Just cook as you would normally for the full time as said leave the grated cheese off and chuck in the freezer. Hope it goes well.

I allow it to defrost and then cook as you would usually - about 180C for 45 - 60 mins. Don't forget to put the grated cheese on top before you put it in the oven. Good luck. Oh, and don't forget the garlic bread and salad. Mmmm - had my latest one yesterday and it was fab. Good luck. Smile

How much longer do you cook it for, and at what temp?

I do that too, it's always just as nice Smile

If I'm that pushed for time, I quite often make the entire thing (apart from grated cheese on top) and stick it in the freezer until the day I need it. Never failed yet. Good luck.
