Anyone know any good restaurants in Bournemouth?

Thread Starter: JESC    Started: Thu 26 May 2005    Replies: 11

HI everyone, I'm looking for a good restaurant in Bournemouth for a good meal. I find a lot of Bournemouth's restuarants a bit boring and same old same old! Does anyone have any ideas for Bournemouth or surrounding area ie, Poole, Christchurch?

wow what choice, been away for a bit and come back to all these ideas brilliant. Langtry manor sounds good, I have made it to Les Bouviers once and even though the food was great, I did feel a little put out by one arogant waiter! Never mind can't have everything! Isobels will definitely be receiving a visit!

Thanks everyone. Big Grin

I've never been to Les Bouviers, but it is supposed to be fantastic. Isobels in Ashley Cross is very good for a real treat but a bit pricey (ask for one of the booths if you want a cosy, intimate setting.) It's on the main road between Poole and Wimborne. Also a big thumbs up to City Bay Views. Cheap and cheerful Chinese is Mak's Garden on Ashley Road - excellent - £10.80 for all you can eat buffet. Lots of MSG's flying around everywhere, but you'll come out about half a stone heavier!!!!

Went to a Greek place on Bournemouth Rd last week (near St Osmunds Church, used to be a tapas place) .Awful, awful, awful.

there is a FANTASTIC OUT OF THIS WORLD restaurant call "les Bouvie" or something like that it is near wimbourne poole. I was taken hear for my birthday and the whole evening was 5star!!! Champers & nibbles while going through an interesting menu, top rate service, art on a plate, with orgasmic tastes in the mouth!! not cheap but who cares when it was the best meal EVER!!!! failing that Da vinces on poole quay is always a great night out!! The Branksome Beach restaurant is fantastic. It's a lovely setting, right on the beach (although I'm sure by the name you might have guessed that)!! I always go there when I'm in that part of the country.

City Bay Views is my desert island restaurant (for Chinese that is, for Indian it would the Windsor Tiffin in Burbage, Leics and for Italian pasta, the Valle D'Oro in Newbury, Berks. Anyway back to the City Bay Views...) It can be expensive but the best option is to try one of the set menus where you get 5 courses of a great selection of dishes. Make sure you wear something with an expandale waist though! I also agree with Nick on the Mansion House, I've only been once and the food was great, although the atmosphere was quite formal. Hope you have a great time whichever restaurant you choose.

City Bay Views is absolutely brilliant, I endorse Nick's recommendation. It is not cheap though.

We have The Warehouse on Poole Quay if you like Fish 01202 677238. Or City Bay Views in West Quay Road that is a fantastic Chinese restaurant - I Mean fantastic !!!

Oriels is good on Poole Quay if you want a menu that will satisfy many tasks or The Mansion House in Poole. Or in Christchurch we used to go to The Thomas Tripp Pub (I think that was it) and it did Sea Food
