Gaye-my mum gets her free in Tescos so I guess they have a nice bakery manager.. I get mine in Morrisons because I live near there and that's where I shop. It is always 29p but maybe they always sell the same weight-I'll check. I just had a look on the packet and it is £2.06 per kilo and therefore it would be cheaper for you to buy it in Morrisons than at your baker as it is costing you over £3.00 per pound from him/her as well as having to splash out on other goods. I haven't shopped in Asda for a long time as there isn't one near me so I hadn't realised.

You are lucky Spadge, may I ask which branch of ASDA is that? My branch stopped giving yeastaway free soon after Wallmart took over and told me it was company policy now. I still ask periodically, in fact, the chief bakerman at my branch is on the new ASDA advert woth Sharon Osbourne, at the end in a dark suit.
Tesco tell me it is at the discretion of their bakery manager and ours does not want to give or sell any.
Morrisons charge 60p for a very small amount.
I can get it at a local baker provided I have bought something else and he sells it by the ounce for 20p.
I need fresh for my ginger beer, the other is not so good.

You can get it free in Tesco and Asda and they charge 29p in Morrisons.

If your local supermarket has an in store bakery - just ask. Or, your local baker will be happy to oblige, mine always is!
