Eating out and at home

Whitby!

'Sir' and I are taking a day off next Thursday and taking a trip to Whitby. I seem to remember a great Fish restaurant there (many years ago) it was black and white and I think you had to go up some steps to get to the restaurant. Does anyone know if it is still there, or can you recommend anywhere else to get a good lunch. Also, we may stay overnight - would love suggestions for places to stay, or to have dinner in! Will be our first night alone for AGES!!!!!. Develish Develish Develish

Pleased that you got time alone with "Sir" Prawnfiller& that you tried my recommendation & enjoyed the meal at Terry's too. By the way there's nothing wrong about loo-checking,it speaks volumes about the people that run the restaurants etc. Cool

Cry Didn't stay over - but did try Terry's. As you said, spangled, the food was excellent, fresh, hot and well cooked. Good, pleasant service and the whole place was very clean (always check out the loos!! - yes, I know I am sad!). We would have tried the Magpie, but there was a long queue (outside, in the rain) and 'Sir' would have none of that! Glad we went to Terry's in the end - and the bill was reasonable too!. Big Grin

We love to go to Whitby when we can.Recommended in one of the "Fish Restaurants Awards"was The Piranha restaurant which is along near the pier, on the corner,it was closing, so alas we were dissapointed.but CRY we did not, so, we walked back along the harbour front and tried a little restaurant called Terry's. Superb fish &chips were eaten, with really good service ,clean cosy atmosphere & also reasonably priced.Well worth visiting. Cool Smile
