Panettone

Thread Starter: ckristoff    Started: Sat 11 Dec 2004    Replies: 12

Dear Friends, can you help me please? I have a bread machine and with the book supplied, one of the ingredients is cardamoms. I've never bought this before. I have bought a jar of whole cardamoms. Do I use these whole and grind them up? Or do I just use the seeds that are inside?

Thank you all in advance for help in this matter.

Francesco.

There is a recipe for "Traditional Panettone" on the link below, as you can see it does have cardamon in it, but not all the recipes that you will find by doing a Google search on Panettone do, so maybe just a matter of taste. Smile

I agree with Martino & Anna (Ciao & Buon Natale !) I've never seen Panettone here containing Cardamons. - Martino - whipping cream problem still ? Esselunga are now selling organic cream which 'they say' can be whipped !

I suggest you buy it. You cannot match the quality of those done by the experts and in the UK, Bauli is by far the best. Buon appetito.

Tend to agree with Martino, Blimey - panettone is an old tradional christmas cake in italy, and cardamon is practically unheard of here - so go for his recipe when he posts it.

Dear Martino, if you don't mind, I would love a proper recipe. Thank you for your kind offer.

In the meantime, I'll check my book again, I've got vari-focals and I hate them!

Francesco.

Cardamons in Panettone? Blimey mate!!!!

If you really want to, then crush them and add them 30 minutes into the cycle. Do you want a proper recipe?
