chain letter cake from germany?!?

A few years ago i was given a batch of cake mix with a chain letter which told you how to keep the recipe going forever by passing on some uncooked mix with a letter to 10 people. I used up the last of the mix some years ago and have lost the recipe, can anyone tell me what it was. It was a yeast based mix and i know it contained apples and raisins, you just kept splitting the mix then rebuilding it using further ingredients. Hope someone can remember. Thanks
