Anyone know the recipe for prawns Pil Pil?

We have just returned from Spain and really enjoyed the Gambas Pil Pil but cant find a recipe anywhere,can someone help?

Glad you liked it relishmama, just say if you want some more. Have you tried the pimienton piquante (hot smoked paprika) yet, be afraid, be very afraid and use with great care. If you use too much your tongue will shrivel and your eyeballs will spin like catherine wheels !!!!! I put 2 teaspoons into a big pot of chilli instead of 2 teaspoons of the dulce (sweet) and I could hardly speak for about 10 minutes on top of the other symptoms. Sue Develish Develish Develish

And whats more Sue sent some to me and its delicious along with the recipe.
Big tip, use fresh raw prawns not the pink cooked ones cos they go rubbery.

the recipe for gambas al ajillo is very good if you want it more spicy just add more chill peppers. Living in Spain I'm lucky enough to be able to buy ready mixed pil-pil spice mix at the local market. Sue Smile

Hi Nanc This a recipe used by my brother who comes from Gibraltar. you fry the chopped garlic in olive oil add chilli peppers, when cooked add a bit of dry sherry, for 2-3 min and add the prawns .
