In a pan every time. 3 eggs per person, good knob of butter, black pepper, little tiny pinch of Cayenne. Butter the pan and pour in the egg mixture.. stirring all the time.. 3/4 mins later gorgeous scrambled eggs.

Let me know if it works..do keep an eye on the egg in th last few seconds of cooking..cos depending on the size, they may pop..but you can normally hear them do it just before that. Just do it for about 40 seconds, then do a second or so at a time until it is done to your taste.

You put a teacup in the microwave....with a couple os thimblefuls of water in it and heat it for about 30 seconds. Then crack an egg into it, put it in the microwave and heat for 40-45 seconds. And voila..a perfect poached egg.

I always cook mine in a small non stick frying pan, My daughter was on the Atkins Diet for a while and i cooked it for her breakfast nearly every morning. Pan cleans superbly too. Whenever I do it in the M/W I use a plastic measuring jug which is almost impossible to clean afterwards. jo

I use both methods depending on what mood I am in. The bonus to the microwave is you don't get that strange watery stuff that you do in pan.

The microwave method is just as good & less hassle washing up, lots of black pepper to finish.
I have recently cut back on the scrambled egg on toast and rediscovered the pleasure of poached eggs Big Grin

I always cook in the microwave. For perfect eggs put lots of butter in with your eggs and milk, butter will melt as mixture warms, and never never never overcook. Remember they will still continue cooking while you are serving. Delicious.

Hi I use both methods depending on time and effort.
I prefer the flavour of scrsambled in a pan cos I add loads of butter and its delish. but for speed I use the microwave, it works well but not quite as good in my opinion.
Will be having it for lunch today yummy.

Excuse me Pug Lover, but what is wrong with soda streams?

Hi Pug Lover, for instant coffee during the day, I always make mine in the microwave, have done for the last 20 years!LOL If anyone calls I use the Cafetiere.

I agree with you Pug Lover about jacket potatoes done in the microwave. I always finished them off in the oven. I must admit, though I prefer corn on the cob done in the microwave - wrapped in a sheet of kitchen paper - to simmering in a pan of water.

Oh yeah - jacket spuds! I'd forgotten them. We only had jacket potatoes when Mum had the oven on all day for a massive bake in because they took so long to cook and used too much electricity! We were so poor! Cry Big Grin Big Grin Ate them all the time when we got the micro.

Ha ha, that has made me chuckle, it has taken me back a bit and what about the soda streams!! I remember when my cousin showed me that she made her coffee in the microwave! I guess everyone cooked their jacket potatoes in them, and then chucked them in the oven to get that "crisp oven-baked" look! I would still do that but alas I don't have a microwave at the moment Frown

I would say using a pan, I sometimes cook mine in the microwave, you had to be so careful not to overcook them, and the dishwasher will not the clean the container.

Big Grin Big Grin Remember when microwaves first came out? We all had a cup of coffee made in the microwave. Nobody knew what else to do with them apart from defrost things! There were no cookery books or tips around then. Big Grin

I always was hit and miss with the microwave. I stuck to the same recipe and format each time, but sometimes they came out so rubbery I'm sure if I tried ti bounce them they would have gone into orbit and circumnavigated the globe several times Confused We did away with the microwave when we put in the new kitchen. So its the pan for me now Big Grin Big Grin

When I had my old microwave I did my scrambled eggs in it and they were always good. Now though I do them in a non stick pan and add butter to the egg mixture before putting into the pan. Then, stir, stir, stir away... Yum! Tongue

My scrambled eggs are never hard and dry in the microwave - I suppose you can either use them or you can't - personal choice. Tongue
