What's on Good Food Channel

New UKTV Commisions

Thread Starter: Andygo27    Started: Wed 06 Oct 2004    Replies: 34

Hi, I know James Martin et al, get brand new series 'exclusive' to UKTV which are fantastic, but what about our Good Food Live favourites, such as Lotte Duncan (I'd love to see a series of Lotte's fave recipes) Alan Coxon, surely a history of food series would be perfect for him! & Gino's Italy...c'mon guy's you have a wealth of talent there...(what doe's everyone else think???)

To be honest I think having a Good Food AM programme will ruin it. Although I like watching Good Food Live and Jeni Barnett, I think having a breakfast show too will be an overload.

Thanks for that Relishmama, I knew I had seen her in something more recently.

When does the James Martin ITV series start?

Yeh she did that programme about inventions too. The one where the public have invented something and then get to win a contract with a company willing to develope the idea.
Was not good telly.
As you say Georgie, when I finally get sky put in on Thursday I will watch and more than likely turn off!!

Speaking of James Martin, whats he up to. Saw an ad for another new cookery show.
Whats wrong with that I hear you cry.
Well its on ITV during next week at 1pm. so it clashes with GFL. Someone didnt think that through did they Roll Eyes

Remember her in Blue Peter and am sure I have seen her in other kiddies programmes.

And I did see Deck Dates - think Street Mates done really badly with a cookery/nautical theme. But as people often say here - if you don't like it, don't watch it. So won't be tuning in again.

All I know about her is that she was born in Poole and joined Blue Peter in the mid 90s.

I didn't watch Deck Dates.

Am I the only person never to have heard of Katy Hill? Confused Haven't watched the programme yet - but I will... Tongue

So did anyone actually watch 'Deck Dates' - I didn't (and I know some posters on this board don't like this, but please close your ears for this one, I feel I've a valid reason but...) I don't like Katy Hill. I won't use the expletives i want to but, I'm afraid I've switched off UKTV Food (apart from GFL)...The reason she got away with insulting a great proportion of people like me (I'm on the 'larger' side - hey I love my food) - but she was in conversation with Emma Bunton on HIT40UK on the radio a few months ago (however she got that gig i'll never know, she ain't no Dr Fox) about one of her video's that featured a large guy, and she showed her 'repulsion' of this live on national radio...Of course Emma was really embarrased, but I realy don't like herl for this...Sorry guys, this is not meant to offend any contributers to this forum, but I really feel stongly against this woman.

p.s. Tanner Brothers programme really boring! Sorry! Frown

Yes - UKTV must know by now what the viewers want - surely! Good food - cooked well, informatively, entertainingly (if there's such a word) with lots of info about it, where it comes from and what it can be used in...! That's not hard is it? The channel is called UKTV Food after all - not 'UKTV We've Run Out Of Ideas So Let's Just Put Anything On With A Chef That People Like' Big Grin

Hi, I would love to be positive about JM's new show. But what an awful idea!!
And Katy Hill, well..........................
why cant we just have cookery shows, yeh travel a bit, show us where the ideas, inspiration and produce is from but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont do this lurrrrrve thing, its appauling.
However as youve gone and made the thing now, if and when I get my UKfood back (NTHELL) I will watch with interest and something stuff in me gob to stop the guffawing.

Has anyone seen the advert for the new James Martin show mentioned above? How cheesy does it look? I can't believe they commission show's like this! That cupid one with Ed was bad enough but this looks even worse! Eek

Maybe missed something here but do you mean Bruce Forsyth when you say Brucie? Now even I'm worried about you Brie.
Gino I can understand but...... Big Grin

Mon 11 Oct 2004, 4.28PM

Brie

Ooh thanks Georgie..is he declaring his undying love for me in it?

I told him I was married and so is he..but the poor guy is just besotted....endless e-mails and phone calls and cooking me all sort of dishes that he tries to spoon feed me with.....

*Brie wakes up*

Mon 11 Oct 2004, 11.25AM

Georgie1

Oh, and Brie? This issue of GFL has a piece on Gino... Wink

Mon 11 Oct 2004, 11.24AM

LOL Porridge! Not my cup of tea I have to say. The programme is based upon a 'luxury' liner, cruising up the Thames with a single person on board looking for lurve. Katy Hill goes off and hi-jacks someone (or should that be press gang?) and brings them on board to match-make whilst JM cooks up a romantic meal to set the scene. As I say, judgement will be reserved....
