GARY RHODES RECIPE

Thread Starter: Orbital    Started: Thu 23 Sep 2004    Replies: 5

On the "Friends for dinner" series, Gary Rhodes did a recipe that involved compacting chicken breast fillets and wrapping it in something and then slicing it. Does anyone recognise this recipe and know which of his cook books it's in, as I want to buy it for a friend as a thankyou present? I've been into a local bookshop but have been unsuccessful in locating it.....HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! Confused

I think the recipe is in 'The Complete Cookery Year' if I remember correctly. Maybe WH Smith or Waterstone have it in stock and you can take a sneak into it to be sure. Otherwise Amazon sells it.

Thank you David for your input: the method you suggest sounds vaguely familiar. I tried the other day to source the recipe from his cookbooks at a bookshop, by use of the index but to no avail - perhaps I will have to think of an alternative present as a thankyou gift?

Thank you for that info Marion. I have tried the BBC Food site, but there is no longer anything with "Friends for dinner" listed. I've also tried looking under the Gary Rhode's website, but it is listed as "site under construction"!!!????

the recipe i belive you want involved laying the chicken
onto greased greasproof with foil under neath the greaseproof the breasts are layered so they made a sheet and some of the chicken was minced up and spead over
then you roll it up to form a large sausage and is chilled for several hours ,it is then cooked in stock still in the foil and sliced to serve

This recipe was featured in "Good Food "magazine in November 2000. Perhaps if you contact them they may give it to you. It used also be on the BBC Food Site. Did you try that??
