On prices GD Evans 01753 524188 reckon they are cheapest in the country for built in appliances. The Neff U1661 is £779 but I don't know if they charge delivery, if they do then its probably the same price as electric.shop.com. They have a lot of unboxed items in Smeg, Neff, Siemens and Bosch which come directly from the factory in Milton Keynes which can be even cheaper. They come bubble wrapped instead so are fine. Good prices for those Smeg fridges if anyone wants one.

Had a pair of Gaggeneau ovens fitted into our new kitchen last year. The main oven has an auto pyrolitic function and I must admit to being a bit sceptical about the claims that it takes all the hard work out of cleaning the oven but it works brilliantly. The ovens are a bit on the expensive side but will last a lifetime. One of the things that impresses me the most is the way this oven can seal a joint of meat in 10 around minutes. Much better than browning it on the hob and getting splattered with hot fat. The oven also has a very efficient filter and is very well insulated which is a blessing during the summer

I bought the Neff U1661 that Andre P S has it has a hydoclens system which uses water just to loosten grease (like in a microwave, when you put in a jug of water and heat it). The one that rayk recommended was the pyrolitic. You heat the oven to a very high temperature for 90 mins and it burns off any fat. I have a problem with that because I don`t want to use so much energy just to get my oven clean when we are all trying to save energy. Catalytic liners are the ones which are treated to not absorb fat so they take less time to clean. I don`t know what oxylytic ones are.

Oh sorry, a thought, what's the difference between oxylytic, catalytic and pyrolitic - I think I might be losing the will to live over this

Oh rats! I had just been looking at pyrolitic ovens - it was a Siemens I think and thought it sounded marvellous. Has anyone else had one melt?

Just bought a new house and fitted a Neff U1661 - excellent oven with excellent results.

In response to the recommendation of 'pyrolitic' cleaning ovens, my last AEG oven had this feature, and melted twice on the two occassions I used it!! The engineer said this was a common problem with most pyrolitic ovens.....

I agree Neff is best. I had a Neff double over that was eye level and it as the best oven I have ever had. We have moved and the oven I have now, Stove, is so terrible. It over browns one side while the other side turn out near to perfect, and it only has one setting.

Forget about the cleaning system Neff it doesn't work. The best cleaning ovens are the ones which have a cleaning sytem where the oven heats up to a very high heat for 90 minutes and at the end of the cycle leaves all the grease deposits as ash, which you can wipe off with a wet cloth. These are brilliant !

I have had my Neff circotherm for 23 years and the heating element has just gone. As the old girl is looking her age (not me, the oven) we decided to have a look round to see what was available and to me nothing came close to the Neff. I agree with Marion about built under mine is eye level and it makes things a lot easier. We found there are two models at the moment and we have gone for the top of the range model because it is much easier to clean ahving a cleaning system whereby you put water at the bottom of the oven with a drop of washing up liquid and set it clean and it`s ready to wipe out in 10 mins without having to use chemical cleaners. It also has an extra interior glass panel which fits totally flush so there are no nooks and crannies in the door. I was really impressed with it but not the price tag of £1179 which Comet had on it so I surfed for a bit and found it at electricshop.com for £819 with free delivery. Ordered yesterday and it`s coming Thursday and I`m really excited! I think I need a new kitchen to show it off though

I have had a Neff Circotherm for the past approx. 14 years and I just love it. Never lets me down .I have mine at eye level which is just a dream-I would never again have an oven free standing or fitted under -You do not realise the benefits until you have one. I would recommend a double oven if you can afford it.

I just loved my circotherm Neff oven. I have moved three years ago and had to leave it behind. I have a very basic electric oven now (came with the kitchen I have now)and can't get on with it at all.
