Thread Starter: JEFF JUNIOR    Started: Sat 11 Sep 2004    Replies: 4

Confused Hi, I have tried numerous times to make flapjacks for my son, but everytime they end up in the bin. Does anyone have an easy to follow recipe that will not turn out such a flop! Thanks.

By the way dried fruit and nuts can be added to this recipe but we like it plain because I generally go to the KISS school of doing anything. Good luck and hope it works veggie burger.

Know just what you mean JEFF JUNIOR and sarahq!! Don't have any idea what goes wrong but even the ever reliable Delia recipe fails for me! Will try your one Forbye and see what happens.

Checked as far as I can and this recipe is not copyright as far as I know so here goes: 100g butter/marg, 50g demerara sugar, 2x15ml spoons golden syrup, 125g porridge oats and 25g self raiding flour. method: Preheat oven to 180C/350F. Melt fat, surgar and syrup over low heat. Mix in oats and flour. Press into a well greased 20.5cm shallow square tin and bake for 15-20 mins. Cool before reemoving from tin. This is the recipe I have been using for years and now my youngest daughter uses it.

Wish I could help you but I have the same problem. Usually end up eating them off the baking tray with a spoon Big Grin
