Bead Makers

Confused Bought a bread maker about the middle of last year, with a wonderful dream of waking up to that fantastic smell of freshly baked bread...

...well, that bit worked!! But to be honest I've really struggled to find a recipe that gives me bread that I'd rather eat than build an extension for my house with. I've bought a decent book, and tried following recipes and measurements pretty carefully, but whatever I do to try and vary the consistency to a lighter texter on straightforward white loaves, it always seems to end up doughy and heavy.

Has anybody else suffered in the same way, or have any tips about what I might be doing wrong? I'd like to use it more, but at the moment Morrisons Bakery is winning...

Ah! - as a newcomer to the site hadn't tried that search, looks like a pretty comprehensive list of recipes to try - plugging the Morphy Richards in as we speak. Thanks Martino, oh, and thanks for the 'bead' comment, deserved it I'm sure!

I make bread all the time. Why not type in bread (not bead) into search and change the pull down to chat. I know I have put up several tasty recipes as indeed others have as well.

Oh no - not Bead Makers - no wonder I can't get them to work, I can't even spell them correctly. Bread, of course. The shame...
