i also love tapas, and have cooked the prawn pil pil many a time at home for my friends, remember mammachef?? you can also use mushrooms in place of the prawns if you wish.patatas bravas is great, so are small pieces of deep fried seasoned meats as chicken and pork, cooked till crisp, another is simply torn crisp lettuce drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice.deep fried small fish like our whitebait, marinated mushrooms. to name a few..

Hi Sue, how are you? What a great website that is - I have been perusing the tapas recipes and fancy doing a Spanish night for friends one night.
Thanks for that

Hi Mijas Pueblo,

I love tapas and always have them when I go and stay with my Dad who lives about a 30 minute drive from Allicante. I will have a look at the website you have mentioned for more ideas, thank you.

Hi susiepops.........try www.spanishhampers.co.uk/tapas.html they have some traditional tapas recipes listed. Also try google for gambas pil-pil this is prawns cooked in hot oil with garlic and chillies, the prawns must be raw not pre-cooked or they will go extremely rubbery and tasteless. Also google for albondigas, these are meatballs in tomato sauce. If you need any more ideas let me know. Regards Sue
