Breadmakers

Thread Starter: UK Style user    Started: Thu 03 Jun 2004    Replies: 11

My 2nd breadmaker has now retired to that great big breadmaker in the sky and I'd appreciate any recommendations before I purchase a new one.

I'm looking for one that has a large breadpan and is pretty basic as I have a very greedy family who love their fresh bread and make 2 loaves a day on average.

My Bush Gourmet breadmaker was ideal but is worn out and we can't find the spares for it.

Suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

either www.which.net or www.which.com will get you there Keith and I think the subs are about £8 per month.

Oer! I didn't know you could do that. Is it just which.com? I'll try it later, no time now as I must shoot off after I've finished me coffee to meet mum. Thanks for that Terrydox.

I have been subscribing to the online version for about three years now and have to admit I find it to be very good.

Hurrah! That's okay then! :-) It IS a fab machine, I must say, Haven't had a duff loaf yet. But taking out a subscription for Which? is still very tempting!

I definitely wouldn't worry Keith, the Panasonic is still the better machine, a good investment I would say having read the whole report.

The Panasonic SD-253 is a Which (May 2004) best buy but not far behind at half the price is the Morphy Richards Cooltouch Fastbake 48280, the Panasonic just skims it though.

I can wholeheartedly endorse the latest Panasonic model (SD-253). Since I purchased it last October, I've not bought a crumb of bread. It's easy to use, silent, easily cleaned, the 'raisin nut dispenser' is a boon & produces excellent results every time. I really cannot imagine life without it now!

When my husband bought me a Panasonic Breadmaker 3 years ago, I thought "not another gadget!!", however, I have eaten my words (many times!). I can't speak highly enough of it. I gave my mum a Morphy Richards because it was much smaller but it is not a patch on the Panasonic!

We bought a Panasonic breadmaker approx five years ago and have never looked back. It's a bit more expensive but well worth it. We have never had any problems and the opportunities for producing fabulous bread are endless.

I think that every review I have ever read has said that Panasonic is the best.
