SPATCHCOCK CHICKEN!!! (Wot do I do with it???)

Hey Fellas, Have bought a tiny chicken and would like to "Spatchcock" it 1. How do I flatten the chick without seperating it completely? Do I cut out backbone then flatten it with something???2. When cooking do I put on griddle then in oven, or just griddle it????AND FINALLY............3. What are best herbs to use to marinade?? Always tend to use Garlic and (or) Chilli and would like to give the family a surprise for a change!!!! (Also mother in law here for dins sunday, and would like to impress her)
