Nigella used semolina in her meatballs instead of breadcrumbs on todays Nigella Bites.

Otherwise......yes it sounds like school dinners....with rosehip syrup.......everyone get a spoon and start stirring....mmmmmm...lovely pink semolina!! (Not)

Hi Hawky,
If you dust freshly made pasta with semolina it holds the sauce better. Just a helpful hint, in case it is a food project.

You can substitute semolina for some of the flour in a shortbread recipe. take out about 2 tablespns. of flour and replace it with the semolina. Make shortbread biscuit as usual.
However I've really not used sago or tapioca for anything other than puddings.(of the rice pudding type) Sorry can't be of much help here.

Hi Yukata - have to agree, my first reaction was a very uninspiring: sago pudding; semolina pudding; tapioca pudding. Now dosn't that just make you rush.....

Sounds more like the History of school dinners/puddings.
