Any ideas how to make biscuits that look like hedgehogs? My brownie unit are fundraising for a local hedgehog rescue, and as they enjoy baking thought we could make some.

Another alternative is sweet bread dough and use almond slivers for the spikes and currents for the eyes and nose then coat in egg wash.

Or you could make chocolate cakes...as individual buns, turn them upside down, cover with chocolate butter cream and stick bits of chocolate buttons in for the spines, currant for nose and eyes.

I used to do these with the kids at school years ago (when we had the time to make bread) just make little bread rolls but a little bit oval, then snip the back with scissors, and two currants for eyes. VERY popular, much better than boring old roll shapes.

What about doing savoury biscuits? Using the mixture you would use for cheesy biscuits say, spread out a thick amount and using a knife pucker the surface to create the hedgehog spikes. You could then dimple in the eyes and fill the depressions with poppy seeds. It was an idea I got from watching today's Big Cook, Little Cook on CBeebies where a baker made little hedgehog rolls - they looked brilliant! (Mental note: must stop watching kids TV)

hi , only a sugestion, but, if for instance u had some digestives , say 3 to 4 make each one a little smaller than the last, make up some choc butter cream, spread cream onto largest biscuit then continue to layer with smallest biscuit at top. then pipe some spikey bits on the top to make it look like a hedgehog!!! choc drops for eyes.
