Pre-prep starters/desserts?

Thread Starter: Matsmak    Started: Fri 20 Feb 2004    Replies: 4

Hello, I am cooking for my boss in a few weeks time and she is coming over straight after work. Can anyone recommend any interesting starters and desserts that I can make the night before so that they are pretty much ready and I can just concentrate on the main course? Please not creme brulee (as this is my tried and tested favourite but I am a bit bored with it myself).

Many thanks
Kate

There is a recipe on this site for chilli oranges with feta cheese salad which can be made ahead of time and tastes absolutely divine. All you will need to do is assemble it on the night. Dead easy!

Hi Kate, Paul Young here, I have alot of dessert recipes on the site/ from GFL. Most can be made in advance.
My Amber fruits in oloroso recipe is a favourite with my friends. You can substitute the fruits and oloroso sherry for any other booze.

Good luck, let me know if you need any other help.

On New Years Eve I did king prawns with a seafood sauce to start which is dead easy and then for desert chocolate souffles from Asda! I know it's cheating but they were lovely and presented in glass ramekin dishes so no one will never know!!
