i got the last part of good food bites today, to just see mary berry finish a three layered cake... when it panned out, i saw another cake on the counter, a ring shape, with strawberries.. does anybody know what the recipe was for it?!

Mary was showing how to cover up mistakes with baking. i.e. the 'savarin' filled with berries was a victoria sponge that sank in the middle, so she cut out the middle and covered it with cream and berries. The chocolate layer loaf was a baking tin chocolate sponge that hadn't risen so she sliced it into three and filled each layer. Hope this helps!
