Chicken cooked with a can of Beer

Thread Starter: frexy    Started: Sat 31 Jan 2004    Replies: 221

Saw this idea when in the states and wondered if any one has ever used this method to cok a chicken?
The chicken is cooked using a half full can of beer as a cooking device, not as an ingredient.

Alan Coxen definitely did it last week and the prog was a hoot. You can just imagine Jeni - she said she couldn't look at it because it reminded her of childbirth!!

Word of warning my dears......

I have posted links to this and the Pinwald the Pinhead thread on Karma, just so they know how crazy the people who post here are.

Evildustbunnies chief of Karma, (sorry Shrek but I see her as boss) has already posted that by reading this thread she can see why people from here are fitting in over there so well.

Me? Mad? nah, never!

Jaybee, shock more like!!

So glad this thread has reared its wonderful (chicken) head again, and pleased that there are people now enjoying it as much as we did creating it, (well it is a work of art isn't it?)

Oh people - I have had such a laugh reading this thread - but have you thought, is'nt it just as well that we use chickens without heads?! - can you imagine - a poor defenseless chicken (who has been assured that its sacrifice is for the greater good) standing on the barbie supported by its own legs plus its new cylindrical shiny metal leg - with a look of alarm and surprise on its face?!

My cousin in Toronto did this for us when we went over, she called it dancing chickens, as when the beer heats up and expands it 'dances' on the bbq. My cousin stood it on a foil plate/dish and she cooked it on her gas bbq - simply delicious!

Rustie this was hilarious. I even found the website you mentioned and saw the picture. Yuk.
I had just finished reading the whole thread at 12.30 and switched on the tv to watch GFL and lo and behold there was Martin Blunis about to stuff a tiny little quail. You can guess the rest I had to leave the tv and post this comment.
