Does anyone have any nice recipes to share using cous cous? I tried it as part of one of the knorr meals (my first time) and it was lovely. I just haven't been able to come up with anything as tasty

i lurve cous cous! what i do with mine is chop up some mushrooms, some bacon, and some onions, and fry them off until everything is cooked through. I then cook the cous cous the normal way, but add butter to the water, so that its absorbed, when the cous cous is nearly ready, i add the mushrooms, bacon and onion.... its delicious - esp wen its a cold day!
or, another is, cook the cous cous, add some tuna.. and squeeze a lil lemon over it... very fresh... better in summer!

Wow these all sound good! Here is my version of a couscous salad:
first, cook the couscous - then simply add lemon juice and olive oil, followed by a few (not too many) chopped olives, lots of parsley, chopped mint, chopped tomato, and lastly - pre-roasted walnuts and currents. Yum - I've had many a rave review with this one.

Couscous is lovely with lamb to absorb all the gorgeous juices. I add roasted courgette, mushrooms, red onions, peppers and garlic and mix with cumin, fresh green chilli and fresh coriander. Couscous is also good for stuffing peppers and tomatoes.

The best cous cous I have made and had many comments on is roasted veg cous cous. Roast courgettes, aubergines, peppers, onions, mushrooms and maybe some butternut! (no potatoes!). Make up the cous cous with some stock rather than just hot water, then mux the two and add feta! The feta and butternut go so nicely together!
Sainsburys cous cous is a good option, easy to make!

Carol have you thought of using it in a pudding

put 2pints apple juice in a saucepan with 4oz cous cous 2oz sultanas 1/2 tspn mixed spice and bring to boil and simmer for 10 mins. Preheat oven to 200 and put half couscous mixture in an oven proof dish.Cut a large bramley apple in half and slice and put on top of couscous. Cover with the remaining cous cous and use the other half of the apple to cover. Sprinkle with sugar and cook for 25-30 mins

I like to use it to make a Greek salad style cous cous. Rehydrate the cous cous, with stock (equal quantities.) Season well, then mix with halved baby tomatoes, chunks of cucumber, slivers of red onion, black olives and feta cheese, sprinkle with oregano and a squeeze of lemon.
Yummy

Hi..

I add chopped onions, peppers, sun dried toms, raisins, sweetcorn.....in fact anything I have left in the cupboard/fridge!!

I have fun just throwing the stuff in and seeing what it ends up like.....itd different everytime, but I have no complaints from the other half!
