Feathers Inn

Feathers Inn

The Feathers with its cosy and inviting interior has built a reputation for fabulous home-cooking over the past 20 years. Fortunes

Fortunes

Park on the clifftop at Whitby Abbey, then take the 199 steps down to Henrietta Street and pitch up at the extraordinary, evocative ramshackle hut that is Fortune's evocative kipper smokery. Decades of smoking over oak shavings has left the shed blacker and thicker than tar. The kippers are sold in pairs and wrapped in newspaper, an unmissable Whitby institution.
