Japanese in Acton

Acton has always attracted newcomers to the Capital. For years it has been a desginated stop-over for Australian and South African backpackers on their European adventures. A more permanant fixture in the area is the thriving Japanese community in London.

When a private Japanese academy located to the site of one Acton's oldest schools, almost overnight sushi bars and Japanese supermarkets sprang up around the local buisinesses and mock-Tudor houses of middle class Hanger Hill. The added bonus of a couple of local golf courses ensured a hole in one for Japan's favourite pastime.
