I love to have a banter with friends and discuss things objectively. I have found certain discussions on this site to be bullying and obtrusive.... 2 individuals without naming names in particular! I will move on but will still continue to watch Ina in her wonderful programme... with her wonderful lifestyle and Geoffrey, the wonderful husband... lucky Ina.. Good for you!!

Hi Jen, thank you so much for that! I check into this website about once a month or when i get an email into my message box. These have to be sad people making comments like this.. I am seriously shocked and upset by their messages. We all can have our own 'take' on things and should be able to post our opinions without a diatribe from uptight individuals. Freedom of speech I will advocate without the bullying!! X

Microplane graters from the US do those. I saw some in a kitchen shop in Manchester only last week, so they are available in the UK. Hope that helps! Smile

HomeLovinggirl.. dont get me wrong.. I use salt in my cooking.. always rock or sea salt. Its when Ina says add 1 tablespoon of salt to a white sauce.. that's a helluva lot! I am not an advocater of not using salt and I agree that companies seem to be using less and less. Why not add your own salt if you find ready meals too bland. Personally I dont use ready meals as I like to cook from fresh ingredients and know what is going into my food. No I am not a housewife with plenty of time.. I work full time. So I agree with your freedom of choice.. add as much salt as you like to your food. Just dont expect the rest of us to have to eat food laden with hidden salt content which more often than not is covered up with sugar content.... Food for thought!

I love her too. By the way I have made a mushroom lasagna very similar to Ina's and used a mix of button, field and chestnut mushrooms.. delicious. Just use what you have to hand. My one problem is her huge usage of salt. the butter is bad enough but the salt!! I would use a quarter of what she uses! I suppose it is all a matter of taste at the end of the day! Smile

French student recipe

3-4 weeks ago I was perusing the Peoples Cookbook and looked briefly at a recipe which was cooked by a French exchange student for the family he was staying with. Meant to go back to it straight away, but hey ho you know what happens and I forgot! I have been searching today and can't find it. It was a One-Pot-Wonder and I seemed to think it had potatoes/cheese/bacon in it. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!
