Hi Kim.It was a nice dress, she wears a lot of dresses. But women always have to make an effort, don't they? They will be critised more than poor Tom, if she was scruffy. I can never find a dress that will suit me. BHug

Salt is very bad for the heart and shouldn't be used a lot. Better to put less and add more after it is cooked to ones taste. I will give it a bash at making lasagna with mushroom but my son doesn't like mushrooms. Frown
You could make lasagna with differrent ingredients, spinach aubergines salami in small pieces, feta cheese ricotta anything you have left over in fridge. If you want it white do it with white sauce. If you don't want it white do with a basic tomatoe sauce.

redecorating: for love or money?

You can decorate your house really with what budget you have available. The most economical way, to me, is fresh paint, modern clean styles, and therefore easier to maintain and keep clean. Minimalist is the way to go I think this day of age. Incorporate a little of your own style with accesories, and try keeping it minimal. Add your own favourite colour, with rugs cushions etc. Making it comfortable for your lifestyle counts a lot too!

Hi Spicer1 my tomatoes got like that from the horrible weather, they were outside, not in the greenhouse. I enjoy Safari Chef he is doing a great job Mike, considering the conditions out there in the bush. The chefs are excellent, I disagree Anna about the ingredients. The object of this programme, I think, is to show you how different nationalities cook, and the way they handle food. Food programmes can be dull just watching how to prepare food. Bring back Jenny Barnett & Good Food Live NOW!!!

Glad to hear you enjoyed Italy Wagstaff, my family background is Italian. There is some wonderful scenery in Italy, and watching these programmes bring back a lot nostalgia. I have not been to Italy, for a long time, so seeing programmes like Return to Tuscany is a joy. Trattoria, is spelled with two t's I think. My other half is Sardinian, and I have seen a little of this island. Italy has a lot of magic to it, the mountains and little cobbled lanes and flowers, all year round in some parts. The architecture is fantastic, the enormous iron doors that lead into big buildings, the intricate metalwork, the large fountains with big waterfalls, I miss it. The fruit trees and olive vines are very nostalgic to me. Hug

Whos to blame for obesity??

Thats right I suppose, why do parents moan they don't have enough hours in the day to cook for their kids?

Tue 21 Nov 2006, 11.02AM

Whos to blame for obesity??

I agree with a lot of what you say, but putting all the blame on parents is not the answer. If maybe there was more time for the mum to be at home and start cooking from first thing in the morning, so the child could have a balanced dinner, when they get home from school. They wouldn't go and buy junk food from the shop! Frown A good cooked meal everyday would stop kids buying junk, sweets etc.

Tue 21 Nov 2006, 10.14AM

Whos to blame for obesity??

Adverts on Tv, shops sweets chocs. How can it be the parents, we are just as bad as the kids! The moneymaking industry is to blame, but they are changing, Walkers crips made with sunseed oil, healthy mueslie bars etc.etc. Wink

Here's a chat topic...

Well Angelina are you asking or do you know?
First having exactly the right amount of ingredients, whether it is measured or not. You have to know exactly the right quantity. Also the amount of cooking time is extremely important. Another fact is good quality, food which is grown, not necessarily organic, but fresh and not stale or near stale. The most expensive should be the right one, but, if you were watching Food Uncut, thats not necessarily true. So No 1 - good quality. No2 - Exact amount. No 3 - The exact cooking time. Hug
