Tom Parker Bowles lack of dress sense
Kim thats true, casual doesn't mean unhygienic. Actually thats his fashion taste he thinks by dressing casual, thats the new fashion, to him. His mum doesn't have a fashion taste, if you noticed.
Tom Parker Bowles lack of dress sense
Hi Kim.It was a nice dress, she wears a lot of dresses. But women always have to make an effort, don't they? They will be critised more than poor Tom, if she was scruffy. I can never find a dress that will suit me. B
starchy foods Dr Hilary's advice
There is always someone who is smart!
starchy foods Dr Hilary's advice
Dr Hilary says eating and drinking in moderation, is ok.
A glass of sherry is very good for the elderly as it stimulates their appetite, maybe thats why I like a drink of wine before I eat, (or two).
Tom Parker Bowles lack of dress sense
Hello Pete I thought Camilla was his mum!
Tom Parker Bowles lack of dress sense
Maybe his mum should tell him to smarten up?

Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Thanks for that I thought she had already started, she had a barn warming, but maybe I missed that one, if it is a repeat.
Love to all
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Has Ina garten new series started?
sweets and chocolate gifts
Ina Garten made some chocolate bark recipes really easy to make and delicious!
missing recipe
Thats not very nice Jan. He is very sweet and really dedicated to food. His wardrobe needs looking at though.
Recipes from Market Kitchen
They should make it easier for us to find a recipe, finding Ina Garten recipes you cant find on the Good food channel.
Pronunciation of Italian food names
Its all in fun Jeanne, they like taking the mick. My family are Italian and though I am born in England, I like making fun of their accents.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Have you watched Nigel Slater tonight on BBc 1 he was very good.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
hello Azelia are you doing your own wedding are have you got caterers. Wish I was getting married.
Keith Floyd RIP
He will be remembered by all the tv chefs and the public. He was one of the first cooks on tv who became very popular. He had a sense of humour that is lacking today. God bless you.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
She is probably taking a long deserved rest, maybe Jerry has his boat and they are sailing far away!
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Thanks Adrian will look forward to it. All the best to you.
Chicken Supreme
I am glad you had more confidence to go back to the hotel, and thus getting a compensation.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
I thing Geoffrey should have his boat. She would enjoy it she could entertain all her friends there how cool.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Welcome home Adrian, I was glad to hear that you mentioned us to Ina. Is she the same in real life as she appears on tv.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Loved this mornings programme its Ina's 40th wedding anniversary. Congrats to the both of them, they wanted a low key affair. Loved the idea of the tent, in their garden.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
I love Ina and Jefferey, she loves entertaining and likes to have fun. Her recipies are good homely cooking not cordon bleu or cheffy just what we need.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
It did not have a name Homelovingirl. I t was just white choc with dried peaches cranberries and roasted wholenuts.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Is it the same style as her kitchen though.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Thanks Azelia. I shall be making these scrumptious chocs, and place them in boxes and give out to families and friends, as presents. Don't tell Ina.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
What is the American site for Inas recipes please.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
I thought she was still cooking from her house the kitchen looks just the same as the one in her house.
I like the white cocolate with fruit too, i might try it too where can I get the recipe? Thanks Azelia.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Adrian please tell Ina I am her best fan I watch her everyday, give her all my love. Enza
Help Us Save The British Cherry
I bought some cherries from the stall sellers on the roads, and they were Spanish. I thought I was buying English.
Jacket Potatoes
Just cook the potatoes the day before and do the stuffing the next day.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Hi Ina you must let Jeoffrey get his boat as shown in yesterday's program. He wants one but she doesn't. It will be great fun you can cook for him in his boat.
Last nights Barefoot Contessa
Jefferey enjoyed his friday meal could be a favourite now. Love the pastries she made yesterday, better than his nans.
Hells Kitchen
Are you all watching this prog, Marco is brilliant as usual!
cake decorations
Just want to say Happy Easter to everyone. I will be making a ricotta cake for the easter festivities. Happy Hols.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Ina's recipes are quite healthy really, she always uses fresh vegs and fresh fish. The butter side of things is the only fat content she uses and her cream in her cakes.
nutrtional information on UKTV food recipes
I agree Barshedale no one would bother to cook anymore if they had to look at what everything has. I enjoy cooking and know by instict what I am cooking with. Some peole just like picking at things too much. You know what you are putting into your cooking, we are not using these preprepared crap.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Ina's barn is finished everybody, she had a party for her staff. We did not see her barn though we might see it next time.
How To Find A Husband
I want to find a husband at moment, I should watch the programme when it comes back. I have had one husband, but not the right one, still searching for the right one, its taking a long time. My age is getting the better of me!
Does bread really cause bloating?
White bread does cause bloating brown bread doesn't. I can't eat white bread anymore. I eat multigrain or just wholemeal or sometimes 50/50.
cooks and chefs
One cooks professionaly the other doesn't, so try and decide who cooks better now!
on channel 4 , Come Dine with me any fans?
Used the like it at the beginning getting a bit thin now. Like the voice of David Lamb.
Antony Worrall Thompson
How do you know it is the cooker that does not work it could be the fitters who tried to fit the appliance.
The Barefoot Contessa
Nick what is Jeffery up to I hope he has retired then he can see Ina all week! Yeah we can see him more too!
The Barefoot Contessa
Her new shows have begun but her barn isn't finished yet can't wait to see it.
The Barefoot Contessa
I like the anniversay dinner she had with Jeffery yesterday. The wedding cake she made was fantastic she made look so easy to make. She is great, happy anniversary Ina and Jeffery.
Measuring cups
Hi Linda you got the wrong end of the stick I don't mean a can, I meant the measuring cups that Ina uses in her cooking, for mearsuring like flour sugar etc. I am making a cake I need to use 75g of flour and I wondered which cup I should use, half or a quarter or three quarters?
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
We actually saw her barn, the outside though, as it is still not finished. Enjoy watching her recipes as usual. They always turn out perfect. I see she is using less butter which is good.
Measuring cups
What size cup do I use for 75g can someone please help?
Gary Rhodes' Local Food Heroes
I am really enjoying this programme, Gary Rhodes is presenting it very well, leave the poor man alone!
Where have all the supporters gone i.e.Roxy
Hear hear I agree to that Terri! Maybe if Jenni comes back?
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
When are we going to see her in her new barn that has been built especially for her to do her programmes.
Nigel Slater
I like Nigel Slater, even though these are all repeats. I didn't see all the first ones, so this is a treat. He make everything yummy. I think he is yummy too!
Barefoot Contessa
You are awful but I like you.
Where have all the supporters gone i.e.Roxy
5 years it is a long time I agree its not the same anymore not the same atmosphere as it was!
Huomos dip
Good idea alc28, I shall do that next time, but I am told tahini paste is the authentic way to do it. Turkey steaks tonite fried in breadcrumbs.
Huomos dip
My homous tasted too garlicky I put lemonjuice but not cayenne pepper ordinary pepper. I think I will but tahiti paste next time though, I used my smoothie blender not a normal blender, as I couldn't be bothered to take the other one out. You could see the chick peas.
Huomos dip
Made the dip but no tahini, tasted a bit to garlicky, too much garlic, might buy tahini next time. Thanks Irnbrew
Huomos dip
Can someone tell me when making humous dip do you have to put tahini sauce in it, or can you make it without.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Thats true if you put in after it doesn't mix in well. Best to put salt in while your cooking it flavours the food more.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
Salt is very bad for the heart and shouldn't be used a lot. Better to put less and add more after it is cooked to ones taste. I will give it a bash at making lasagna with mushroom but my son doesn't like mushrooms.
You could make lasagna with differrent ingredients, spinach aubergines salami in small pieces, feta cheese ricotta anything you have left over in fridge. If you want it white do it with white sauce. If you don't want it white do with a basic tomatoe sauce.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
I like her going in the different shops in her area, yesterday she went to a mushroom farm, and saw a big selection of wild mushrooms. She made a mushroom lasagna with what she bought. Oyester and blue mushrooms, they must taste really different to normal mushrooms.
Last year's Xmas cake
It depend what you put in it too. Eggs and butter tend to go off.
Clean Bread
Hi Paul, thank you for posting here and giving us your knowledge. Do you sell your own bread in the stores and what is it called. All the best to you. XX
Barefoot Contessa
We probably have to wait ages before it comes here.
Windor Grill (AWT) - Fantastic Evening
Wish I had a chance to go there. One day if I am lucky. Would like to see Anthony in the flesh, I think I know him after seeing him on TV in different prog.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
We are still getting repeats of her show. She invited her boss round to dinner yesterday love her sodas, with all different flavours, coffee, choc etc. Come on UKTV show us her new series.
Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa
I love Ina and her life in the Hamptons, she has a lovely home, friends and Jeffery, her sweet loving husband. What a lucky lady, I never get tired of her recipes, she does things in a home cooked way, and they always turn out 100%. Good luck to you Ina!
Last year's Xmas cake
Personally I would dump it a cake can only last really about four to five months. I wouldn't eat it but I am fussy, I only eat fresh food anything past it's expiry date even on same day, I turn my nose up.
Why don't you get one from shop, without icing, and ice it yourself. Then you know no one will have food poisoning.
school dinners
It turned out ok my cottage pie in the end. Just cooked a bit longer like you said. All the best
school dinners
Good luck Becky I am sure it will sell well. I have just made a cottage pie, is there a recipe for one in your book, mine has come out a bit soggy.
I'm suprised at Mr. Rhodes' demeanour
I like Gary, he is in Strictly Come Dancing, he has a fit, sexy body. I wish him well in it.
JM
You could go to Brittany in France he is doing his new programme at the moment. On 9pm everynight.
Ina Garten
Did you see the long sandwich Ina made today, and the open egg sanni, it made me really hungry. She is great, she makes things look so easy.
James Martin
Anyone seen the gorgeous pic of James in Celebs magazine. He is in a new prog called James Martin's Brittany, can't wait to watch.
The prog if for UKTVfoods of course.
Chings Kitchen
I like Ching she does seem to make Chinese food more easy to follow with her programme. Trying to get the ingredients might be difficult sometimes.
Knives
I would like to buy some knives in a block are the cheap ones any good?
Rhodes across China
Could it be that he got a lot of stick the first time that he has learned to be a bit more cortieous.(sorry about spelling) Chinese food is very different and we can learn a lot. Indian food we can learn a lot from too.

GARY RHODES ON LOOSE WOMEN
I saw Gary today on Loose women, he came across quite good, he talked about his programme in China.
Dado Rails - To keep or not to keep?
Hope you get on alright, let us know.
Worrall Thompson
I enjoyed this programme last time, but its repeats again!
Loft conversion in a studio flat
A bit late in replying, just saw your post now. If you will get the money back when you sell it then it is worth every penny. Ask an estate agents' opinion, anything that gives you extra space, is worth it!
Dado Rails - To keep or not to keep?
It depends if you like dado rails. It you have very high ceilings than I think its better to leave them in. It breaks your walls up a bit. If you don't like dusting, I think they are a dust collector, myself. If you paint them the right colour to cordinate with the rest of the colour scheme, then they can look very nice.
Limoncello
Hi I drink the stuff, but you can use it in desserts with lemon. How about putting a touch in Lemon Meringue?
Simply Italian
Thanks for that TVFoodie. I thought it was with fish. Must look out for it.
Simply Italian
Anyone watching this prog, very simple recipes to follow. Chocoholics galore!
Marinara sauce is mentioned quite a lot, what is the version over here?
Barefoot Contessa
Have you tried a health shop for coconut?
Like the new series of Barefoot Contessa, isn't she supposed to be having a new kitchen built?
painting interior doors
Thank you for that advice, I want to paint my doors too. I would like the grain of the wood to show through, though!
For those who prefer other programs to MK
I thought she was a breath of fresh air, Ms Lamb. I thought she did well.
Where has the house doctor gone?
Miss Ann and her style of doing up a home, not much on now on Ukstyle tv.
bolognese pasta sauce
Ferran it probably tastes great, but I have a life, your recipe takes too long. Prefer the simpler version.
Nice Guy
I can believe it he seems a nice guy on the tv. Luv you Rick.
What makes Christmas Christmas?
I think that as well, if you think about all the starving people in Africa, you would try and spend a little less. Why do we have to save all year round just for one day. Its ridiculous all the money that is spent for one day, now there is a credit crunch people might not be so extravagant. Christmas is for, bla bla bla, don't get me started on this subject again please!
New website that might be of interest...
Do you mean a quotation for a valuation on your house?
What makes Christmas Christmas?
Eek Christmas! Get me out of here!
Broad beans
We has a good crop of broad beans this year. I wish I saw your recipe for the dip first Mrs Woof Woof. Another way we cooked ours was, with pasta. Pasta and broad beans in an oil and parsley and garlic sauce. All gone now back to the frozen ones now.
Broad beans
You cook the beans first before pureed?
Barefoot Contessa
She makes everything look easy. Jefferey seems to be at work all the time though. He needs to get a local job so he can be with his missus more.
Come Dine With Me
I like the guy as well, he has a sexy voice.
Sardinia
Thanks trinchetto are you Italian by any chance? Just got back from my hols enjoyed it and the food.
Sardinia
Going to Sardinia for two weeks. Hope I find some good restaurants. See you when I get back.
Barefoot Contessa
Hey all, guess what I bought today cups. I got them from Berties the Cook shop, they are plastic all all different colours with spouts for pouring, I can't wait to use them.
Bet mine aren't like yours.
BAKLAVA IS NOT GREEK
Probably they are in Eastern Europe I suppose.
BAKLAVA IS NOT GREEK
Did you see the Eurovision last night Russia won, good song.
Where can I buy orzo in UK?
Again this soup pasta is really only available at Italian Shops, or maybe a deli might stock it. You can get all different shapes, little stars, little rice shapes all for soups. Italian mums give their babies this in chicken shoups. Its called pastina, and different shapes, have their own names. I often go to my Italian Grocers out of town, as we do not have one in Brighton!
Barefoot Contessa
Hi all,
thanks for all your tips. My scales are being made redundant. I think I will use my Pyrex jug!
Barefoot Contessa
Thanks for that info. Do you mean you have to have different cups for different ingredients?
Barefoot Contessa
Can you use just a normal tea cup or coffee cup, without having the real cups?
Bring back Rick!
You can't win, we moan if they show him all week-ends and now you want Rick again.
Where can I buy orzo in UK?
Italian shops, delis or try Taj shops they have their own arabic one. They call it something else, but they will probably help you. Delis call it orzo and Italian delis do too. Good luck, I call it baby food, but its like barley.
Risotto
We had risotto with lobster at a restaurant the other day. It was very creamy and red, bit mean with the lobster and prawns, but delicious all the same. Don't know what to do for tonight.
Pimentos
I cannot bear the Thai small chillies they are very hot. I wanted some chillies the other day, and went to my local Taj Mahal shop, and all they had were these. It is more harder finding a spanish deli, around here. Pimentos are nice not too hot.
Buying in Crete
Have you tried getting in touch with an agency here in England?
Wall marks
You know what my advice is, get a surveyor in, to survey the property before you buy!
Tom Parker Bowles Rigatoni recipe
Do you mean penne arrabiata with chillies?
Come Dine With Me
I have just started watching this programme and I am enjoying it. I have to watch two series, to see who wins in the end. The result doesn't just depend on food also how the host treats her guests and if she makes them feel comfortable too.
Ina Garten
Lucky you travelling around the world. Look forward to seeing the new episodes of Ina and hopefully we can see more of New Hampshire.
Ina Garten
Did you live there as well?
Ina Garten
I am glad to hear it. I would like Ina to show, her going out more and seeing all her friends. Maybe her going out on hols with Jeffery would be good. Being romantic with Jeffery and pulling his leg more.

floor ideas for bathroom
They can be cold tile, but you usually put rugs all over the floor. What about a hardwearing lino?
Market Kitchen - Is this a Fatuous Programme ?
She is nice, but can she let anyone else have a word.
Airmiles
Hi welcome back I hope you are well and had an enjoyable time away. We are encouraged to buy local fresh produce, what should we do?
Most Iconic British chef
Gino is not British how can you vote him British Iconic Chef.
Best British Iconic Chef

freezing spagetti carbonara
He is right, you can't freeze pasta dishes, but lasagna you can.
Bring back Alan Coxon
I like Alan he is full of information nice guy.
Carvery, Toby
We had a sunday lunch at our local Carvery in Peacehaven this Sunday. Lots of veg and roast meats, as much as you can eat. Good value, and no washing up, for a busy mum like me it's ideal. Desserts are good value and home made, thanks!
James Martin
James Martin is mine, so lay off everyone. I have had my eye on him for ages so keep off, ladies.
He is all of the above, plus good body etc etc etc. I hope is not you know, as he is still single!
bolognese pasta sauce
I thought you meant Ketchup, sorry. I@m sorry you had a relapse hope you feel better soon.
Tamasin's hair
Jamie should have someone advising him about the hygiene aspect of his kitchen, poor boy, he can't think of everything. What about his wife giving him a hand on old crockery etc.
bolognese pasta sauce
Hi rosti hope you are well and not working too much! I like carrots in mine and mushrooms but my son doesn't like mushroom so I don't put them in. You would put put ketchup in it that sacralige and Hendersons Relish? Yuk
bolognese pasta sauce
Never put marmite in the sauce, must give it a try, does it make it more savoury? Can you taste the marmite in it. I don't pour boling water over the mince, don't you use oil to fry onions etc.
Easter
Hope everyone is a having a happy Easter.
I made an Italian ricotta cheese cake for Easter, enjoy your holidays all posters!
Tile transfers
You can also get tile paint, first use a primer. Try crafts shops for transfers.
school dinners
Sorry did not get the above post, is there a dinner recipe book for sale in the shops? I would certainely like one.
james martin digs deep
Thats why!
He does a lot for charity too!
school dinners
I remember prunes and custard Yuk! My favourite was choc pudding and choc custard, I can never get it the same at home! Cornflake tart as well we had, the pastry tart was really thin, it was very nice. Come to think of it the school dinners were good, but when your young you don't appreciate them.
The Barefoot Contessa
She is on everyday Jen. I think she is great too.
wedding cake - combined traditional and chocolate
You will find nowdays that wedding cakes do not have to be in fruit. Chocolate seems to be more popular, or vanilla sponge?
Recipe for biscuits using All-Bran
I have some porridge oats, I need to use up. I will try and make biscuits with.
james martin digs deep
Love the show and the way he grows veggies and incorporates with his cooking. Why isn't he married?
got any ideas for lamb chops??
Lamb cutlets are more tender when cooked. I like to cook them in tomatoe sauce when I a make pasta. But all the above recipes look good.
rings
I did a food and hygiene course yesterday, and they covered the jewellery bit, it should not be worn in case you get bits of it in your food, nothing about the hygiene side of it. The most important item was do not mix raw meat with cooked food!
colour matching
Neutral colours should go, creams etc. Lots of eccessories pictures.
razor clams
We have them on the coast here in Peacehaven near Brighton, I don't like the look of them myself. OH seems to love them, he collected some over the week-end. Yuk!
Barefoot Contessa
60 wow I didn't know she is 60! She does not look it. Many happy returns Ina, hope she throws a party and invites us all.
Barefoot Contessa
We have to wait till October!
old vs new
Yes they can, you can get modern style open fires now days.
Potato waffles - or put another way feeding a fussy teen.
I haven't made them myself but I think you need a potatoe waffle machine, worth checking out. I buy the frozen ones, but thought there is only one ingredient in it, potatoe.
recommendations for a deep fat fryer
hi, why don't you cheat millym, go to the chip shop and buy a portion. Say you made them in your fryer, he will never know!
I think take away chips from fish and chip shop, are the best!
Apple pie
Are you intending to cut up the apple and put it in the pie. Or leave the apples cut up with lemon juice so they don't discolour?
fantasy homes by the sea
I love this programme, she is a great presenter, and finds some beautiful prop very reasonably priced.
Bring back Jenny Barnett & Good Food Live NOW!!!
Your welcome, GFL has finished, and it won't come back, so people should just get on with it, and try and enjoy something else. Jenni is still around, she has moved on, why haven't her fans?
Bring back Jenny Barnett & Good Food Live NOW!!!
UKtv food user, where have you been all this time? Rosti is fed up in answering all your GFL threads.
Have it out with the producers not Rosti!!!!!!
Barefoot Contessa
I would like a house like Ina Garten, she inspires me no end. I like the way she decorates her table for her dinners, everything matches, same colour flowers as her napkins. Would like to see her new barn when completed.
Keith Floyd's Health?????
His split from his 4th wife has made him ill. He has a restaurant in Thailand and has come home to England to get well. Get well soon Keith, we all love you.
Keith Floyd's Health?????
I hope this is not true, wasn't he on Staturday kitchen with ATW, not long ago. Please stay well Keith don't let us down.
Cookery Clubs?
Take care Noshlette, let us know what the food is like.
Site with ideas
Thanks posset, feeling a bit better today. Think I will take sammys idea for dinner tonight - fish and chips, take away.
Can anyone tell me where I can get potato flour?
Delicatessens and health shops. You can also make pizzas and bread with potatoe flour.
Site with ideas
Thanks for your advice, at the moment I seem to be too busy and fed up to go anywhere. But I will certainly give it a try when I am lucky.
renting your room in a property owned with a friend
Certainly not! It's still your house, even if you are not living in it. He has the whole house to himself, and you are still paying the mortgage. You have a right to do what you want with your half of the house. Why do you have to pay rent to your boyfriend, you already pay for the mortgage on your house. He should let you stay rent free!
Cold Pasta and Rice Salads
Ina Garten did a show with lots of pasta salad dishes, a while ago. See if you can get her recipes, from her blog.
market kitchen
I say Rosti you do feel strongly about this!

New Market Kitchen Programme.
Too true gastrosurf, initiative and courage is lacking in a lot, in everyday life too.
New Market Kitchen Programme.
Too true gastrosurf, initiative and courage is lacking in a lot, in everyday life too.
Bathroom Floorboards
Get a builder in could be very dangerous, a qualified plumbe, as well.
Winery Restaurant
"ditto" let us know how you get on Athul!
New Market Kitchen Programme.
Mk is on at 7pm now, I do learn a lot from this programme, I must admit. More than I did from GFL. It lacks entertainment, but certainly makes up for it, from the knowledge it gives you, on so many different ingredients one can find! Loads of tips, come on, everyone stop crying over spilled milk. Jenni was good, maybe she could present MK!
calling all restaurateurs help
My fella wants to open a restaurant, but I definitely rather he didn't, as you say no one wants to eat in one, no more. The after service is what puts people off. The food is brilliant but the astmosphere stinks!
Cauliflower Cheese
I had cauli over ~Christmas where we were invited. It was cooked in the micro and was raw! Yuk. Did not eat much, but we had a pleasant time.
How long are you supposed to leave it in?
Not Food but
This week-end had been bad for UKTV food not much to watch, lets hope 2008 will be good for food prog. Come on! I want to be inspired.
Not Food but
All the best for 2008 to everyone. To all the chefs too.
Barefoot Contessa
I am sure will see Ina soon, she inspires me no end. Like to know if the had a nice festive hols.
Happy New Year to everyone on UKTV foods.
Bathroom dilemma! Advice and opinions needed!
Cabinets on wall are a good bet ,out of the way, hanging up. Mirrored ones create a feeling of space.
Roast Beef Recommendation
Hi Bonnar, I would rather go to a butchers or supermarket and see what I am buying, at least I know its fresh or not. Have a good Christmas everyone.
Festive Tiramisu
I am making tiramisu this year for my family. Taking two dishes with me one to mine and one to his. Just coffee flavour, the traditional Italian one. Make one with 450gr of cheese and then split into two. Hope you all have a good Christmas and a Happy new Year.
Recipe for Roast Seagull
Thank god Im not the only one who thinks seagulls should be left alone!
Recipe for Roast Seagull
Yuk I could never eat a seagull. We live on the coast here and have loads of these elegant creatures flying along the sea line. How can people be so cruel, no wonder there are lots of veggies around, leave the poor birds alone!!!!!!!! They are to watch and admire not eat!!!!!!!!
weight of cast iron bath
Is is cast iron again? How about getting a light one!
Barefoot Contessa
Told you she was taking a hols, but she is sharing it with us!

Barefoot Contessa
She is not on any more, I miss it too. Maybe she is taking a break for Christmas?
Gary Rhodes' Local Food Heroes
I disagree, Gary is very good in this series I would leave him alone, he works very hard being an excellent chef.
Gary Rhodes - A certifiable egomaniac!!
I think Gary Rhodes is a very good chef very meticulous in his cooking. Nothing wrong in having a strong opinion of yourself.
Essential Kitchen Equipment??
Food processor is a must. I don't have one !
James Martin - Strictly Come Dancing
Livewire is a field of information.
What is James Martin up to now, he is keeping quiet these days! Maybe he has a new girlfriend.
Frank Bordoni's restaurant
Sorry to hear that about Franks' restaurant. He can always try somewhere else. All the best Frank.
The Clothes Show
Thank you from me too. This is a very informative show, thanks.
Colin and Justins Home Show
I like this show too, about time they put new programmes like this.
LIVING ROOM DILEMMA
The fireplace should be the focal point, build her ideas round this.
Rachel Allen Recipes This Morning - Soul Food
Have been watching her programme today, and must say I had forgotten how good she is. Please can we have more of her thanks.
Mashed potato - help required!
Must try that grain mustard. I sometimes beat a raw egg in the mash, with butter and milk. Depending what you serve the mash with, to compliment it.
Winter Fruit and Veg
Winter lettuce is good, curly one, endives?
What's eating my pansies?
My pansies are fantastic this year, they have small faces smiling. The birds don't come near mine. You must have a lot round your way.
separate bathroom & toilet?
Separate , is best. If you have space a bath and separate cubicle is best. If no room then do what everyone else does, a shower in a bath
I can't stand this as the water, when I have a shower, in my bath, goes all over the window next to the bath. I have to dry it all up and some on the floor.
starters
My personal favourite is advocado prawn cocktails. Can't go wrong with that easy to make.
Cooking Apples
Thank you all for your ideas. I made apple sauce in the end. It seems everyone went mad, and it all went. Thanks again posters!
market kitchen come back jenni we miss you.
Hi Pocket hope your move went well, are you still in the same area? Nice to see you back.
Barefoot Contessa
Thanks for that info Cheese obs, glad I live over here, I couldn't bear all that trouble!
Barefoot Contessa
How come in America they get a pre wedding party, or is the desserts for the actual wedding. We don't do a party before the wedding, or does she mean a hen party? Still in America they seem to do everthing so lavish and big!
DIY SOS
Any more house programmes like the wow factor and house doctor? There doesn't seem to be anything worth watching on this channel any more!
Cooking Apples
Got a load of large cooking apples from someones' tree, any ideas how to cook them, don't say apple pies.
How to freeze them too.
Barefoot Contessa
She has mad two desserts today, rum baba and floating island. She made them look so easy. How easy was that.

For those who prefer other programs to MK
We haven't had any follow ups since it ended. Would like to see Marco again he is so smooth.
The Barefoot Contessa
I tape her with my sky plus box. Cheaper that way.
As much as I like Ina, she could do with a personal trainer to run her round her garden, that sounds like fun.
Restaurant Show - Earls Court
Good luck with your stand Rosti.
Home - Comfort or Money
That was a lovely post, there are a lot of memories in a house. If you all are happy in it! Like you say, a house is what the people in it make it.
Home - Comfort or Money
Thats right owning your house is an investment and at the end of the day, even though you still live in it, you want an investment. Especially when you spend a lot of money improving it.
For those who prefer other programs to MK
Yes posset I would like to see more of Marco but not only for his cooking.
GREAT FOOD LIVE GOING OFF AIR
Thats what he is, charming. Very charming he reminds me of Captain Thunderbird.

winter veg
Winter lettuce curly one is good to put in now.
House Behaving Badly
This programme has started again. Great I know what to do with my mornings!
redecorating: for love or money?
You can decorate your house really with what budget you have available. The most economical way, to me, is fresh paint, modern clean styles, and therefore easier to maintain and keep clean. Minimalist is the way to go I think this day of age. Incorporate a little of your own style with accesories, and try keeping it minimal. Add your own favourite colour, with rugs cushions etc. Making it comfortable for your lifestyle counts a lot too!
GREAT FOOD LIVE GOING OFF AIR
Is it his restaurant, Jean Phillipe's? He's quite dishy!
For those who prefer other programs to MK
Can we see him on UKTV foods please. Have him as a guest maybe on Market Kitchens.
GREAT FOOD LIVE GOING OFF AIR
Anyone see Hells Kitchen? The Maitre D was very efficient. He tripped over with a tray of food.

provolone cheese-alternative?
Provolone cheese is very light and strong. It has a sharp flavour. Lovely on its own with some bread.
Lamb Tagine
I would love to try this dish. Lucky you GB05.
Bicarbonate of soda
Thanks Rosti for that very useful info I often wondered about soda in pubs. Ta.
For those who prefer other programs to MK
Marco White is a dish! What a sexy beast and can cook too!
Home - Comfort or Money
It depends if you want to sell it soon or live in it for a long time.
Barefoot Contessa
It was nice to see Jeffrey today, he is a cuddly little thing. It's so nice to see them together again, as he is away all week with work. Do they have any kids? The mousse was great, but I think there was to many ingredients in it.
Barefoot Contessa
I have recorded most of her programmes, on my sky box plus.
fantasy homes by the sea.in the algave
It was on today in Peurto Rica fabulous properties, very good prices too. I think I will go and live there, the beaches are out of this world.
green tom pickle
You probably did.
The weather gave mine blight.
tomatoes
I have left some toms on the plants the ones without blight, and I am glad to say they are turning red. Some hope for them yet, but I have thrown most of them away. If you can keep some toms, the good ones on the plants best to keep them on they might survive. Thanks to all for your advice.
nigella express
Anybody seen this programme, it is quite good. I like the format, her kitchen is not as nice as her old one.
green tom pickle
I have a lot of green toms, will have to find the recipe too. Thanks Jennie.
For those who prefer other programs to MK
Matthew Fort looks different on GBM I very nearly didn't recognise him for a minute. I had to think who he was.
Double Glazing
The only trouble is the cheapest quote doesn't always mean it is the best. Value for money is what you should look at. I bought a conservatory from the cheapest double glazing firm around. They did a very good job, but the windows are not very strong they do the trick, but not very good quality. Good luck. get your window seals done inside with pvc, easier.
Barefoot Contessa
No that is not feasible. I said before she just likes wearing big blouses and trousers to hide her figure.
extream makeover home edition
Its true he is really caring Preston, it is amazing what they do, very clever builders in the programme. They do so much!
Barefoot Contessa
Loved the apple pie she made yesterday (how is was that). She does make everything look easy. Does she have someone in to do the washing up? Hope so those kitchens in America are huge. Her garden is wonderful, I would love to have all of that.
Sleepers
I love the gardening designs programmes Ground Force, Garden Invaders etc. Keep on showing them please!
Arundel
Anyone know of any good restaurants in Arundel? Been there this week. Lousy weather though.
Barefoot Contessa
Jenni had a stylist I think? Her clothes were always colourful, like her.
Barefoot Contessa
She probably needs a stylist to help her Anna, seeing as she does not have the time to look for new clothes. My birthday tomorrow, I could do with new clothes, and a stylist as well, never see anything I like in shops.
Barefoot Contessa
She wears blouses and trousers because, I suppose its easy for her, as she is big.
Prints contest on The Clothes Show
I like the Clothes show I get quite a few tips on how to dress.
I would like to see more home programmes too like House Doctor.
Nigella
Bulgar wheat is easily available in supermakets, health stores. The garden looked wonderful, but wasted just for two people! Ina's recipes seem so easy to do, but then we aren't all like Ina. She makes everything look so easy.
How easy was that
Help Needed -- Desserts For Dinner Parties
I made a big dish of tiramisu, always makes a great dessert for a party. Everyone likes it. Good luck with your exams.
Safari Chef with Mike Robinson
this series of Simply Italian are repeats, I've just realised.
Safari Chef with Mike Robinson
I have just realised Anna that this programme is a repeat from last year!
Safari Chef with Mike Robinson
How do you like Simply Italian annasherwood?
Safari Chef with Mike Robinson
I am watching simply Italian, Barefoot Contessa, Mike Robinsons Safari Chef and some times MK when I can't watch anything else. I liked Jenni, but since she has been off (a lot of people may be upset) I have got a life. That is a compliment I think.
james martin
I would too, sorry I ticked you off.
Safari Chef with Mike Robinson
You are right Anna, there is very little on UKTV foods, did you like UKTVfood with Jenni?
james martin
Are you saying he is not a good chef?
tomatoes
Hi Spicer1 my tomatoes got like that from the horrible weather, they were outside, not in the greenhouse. I left to many leaves on the plants I think, I had loads of toms but they were brown and rotten. This year toms have been a disaster for all, the bad weather I think? Let me know how your toms are. I have left a few plants that have not had the disease, but I don't think they will turn red.
Safari Chef with Mike Robinson
I enjoy Safari Chef he is doing a great job Mike, considering the conditions out there in the bush. The chefs are excellent, I disagree Anna about the ingredients. The object of this programme, I think, is to show you how different nationalities cook, and the way they handle food. Food programmes can be dull just watching how to prepare food. It can be more interesting if you know where it comes from and how other people cook, and entertain.
james martin
Even though he is on bbc 2 now he is devine.
tomatoes
I thought I was going to get a good crop, but they got a disease in the end, and have pulled them all out.
Chorizo
I have cooked chorizo sausage for our tea tonight, it was just called paprika spanish style chorizo from Dulano. It is quite fatty but was needed in the risotto I made. Was gulped down by all.
Tamasin Day-Lewis
And her weighing scales too.
Tamasin Day-Lewis
I like Tamasin she has a real passion for her food and sure knows how to put the different ingredients together.
Her new kitchen which she has had over a year now, is great. We saw her American boyfriend as well in some series. I like it when they introduce their families in the series.
Gary Rhodes in India
Looks like thats the only new cookery prog on at the moment. Please make more UKTv food specialist channel of the year!
Tamasin Day-Lewis
Hey she's a great British cook! Ok her hair should be tied back, but why do you all have to be nasty. A slight hint to her from her best friend should do the trick. It's the best cookery programme on at the moment, but I think she has finished her series, at the moment.
GREAT FOOD LIVE GOING OFF AIR
He is supposed to be holidaying there at the moment.
I went to an Indian restaurant the other day, I wasn't to impressed. I was a bit baffled with the menu, I am no expert on Indian food.
GREAT FOOD LIVE GOING OFF AIR
You might bump into Gordon Brown
decking dilemma
Hi mondaychild, I did not mean a trellis for growing plants, I meant the posts like banisters that go all around the decking, and then some steps that go into the garden. Thanks for your help!
Unbelievable????
Agree Wagstaff people are to busy like watching Big Brother! What crap!
tomatoes
My tomatoes are very healthy, too healthy it looks like a jungle out there, the leaves have outgrown the actual plants.
The tomatoes are just shooting out, but I am not sure if I should keep removing the leaves.
decking dilemma
My partner has just done a decking in our garden, he has to put the trellis around it. What distance between each one, and how does he make the holes for each one?
Bring back Jenny Barnett & Good Food Live NOW!!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed Italy Wagstaff, my family background is Italian. There is some wonderful scenery in Italy, and watching these programmes bring back a lot nostalgia. I have not been to Italy, for a long time, so seeing programmes like Return to Tuscany is a joy. Trattoria, is spelled with two t's I think. My other half is Sardinian, and I have seen a little of this island. Italy has a lot of magic to it, the mountains and little cobbled lanes and flowers, all year round in some parts. The architecture is fantastic, the enormous iron doors that lead into big buildings, the intricate metalwork, the large fountains with big waterfalls, I miss it. The fruit trees and olive vines are very nostalgic to me.
kidney beans
If you soak the beans in water overnight first, I don't suppose you have to change the water when you cook them.
Chick Pea Salad
Depends which tinned chickpeas you buy. I buy the Italian brand, and find them very good. No need to use the dry ones, when the tinned are just as good! Just rinse them first. Never thought of doing a salad with them though, good idea. I will make some tomorrow.

Stop showing repeats
Are you watching Nigel Slaters shows, they are good! He has such a way of explaining recipes.
Purple with a brass bed!
I bought a new bed for £90, I haven't had a good night since, help! I can't afford a new bed, as I will never ever buy a cheap bed again.
Any ideas how I can sleep better without spending more money? From a very sleepless person.
The Wow Factor - Tring
Are you planning to do more shows. I love the fantastic designs at the end. They look out of this world. They have that wow factor, please come back on our screens.
Broad Beans, steam or boil?
Does the beans cook just by pouring hot water over them?
Wedding
Went to a posh wedding at the weekend, the food was done in a top hotel. The starter was good, but I have to say the main course was typical, boring vegs and beef. Passion Fruit torte, was excellent as dessert, like a mousse with a sponge base.
romantic fortnight Isola Rossa Sardinia suggestions for eating out please
Hi Lesley my partner is from Sardinia, the South, I am sure any restaurant you see will be great! Enjoy
my girlfriend is cookin me my choice of a 3 course meal!!
As a starter try why don't you try soup of your favourite veg. Main course pasta dish, lasagna or vegerarian pasta? Dessert well, choc your favourite?
Labour cost of renovation: what is the reality???
I have seen the show. It is less dear because they use their own labourers and it is shown on tv, thus using the publicity.
houses behaving badly
She knows so much about cleaning. I noticed on her show she organised a womans office filing her papers in boxes etc. Would like her advice please on this. Where do I start, I tend to keep all my mail, and when I need to find something I have lost it. I keep fliers, advertisments in case I may need them one day.
Barbecues
My boyfriend is trying to build a barbecue in the garden. He needs help with it anyone know any good websites? Also doing the garden, maybe the Garden Invaders team could come and finish it for him?
I want to be on homes behaving badly!!!!!!
Great programme, where do you live slapps, I will come and clean it up for you. Vinegar is what you need to start with, and a skip. Friends is a good start they can give you a hand. A friend who can paint too, a carpet layer, and Ann Maurice for the designing tips.
Whare do you buy buttermilk?
All supermarkets sell it now, in the dairy aisle.
Barefoot Contessa
They have taken it off at the moment. Maybe she is making new ones for us?
Ina Garten Kosher salt
Thanks Rosti, might get some now.
Ina Garten Kosher salt
I have often wondered what Kosher salt is, so basically its sea salt?
Rick Steins canneloni
Leeks and ricotta lovely combination might try it. My other half not to keen on ricotta. Anyone got any other combination I could put in, not meat though.
Frank Bordoni's restaurant
Hi Frank, I see you have been posting on here. Hope you are well and we miss you and all the other chefs that where on GFL! All my best regards Enza.
Simon Rimmer ~ BBQ trifle
Anyone know what Simon Rimmer is doing nowdays? He's nowhere to be seen!
Barefoot Contessa
Where has the show gone, I see its not on this week?
The Barefoot Contessa
I think Inas cooking is great, it is not expensive. She uses all basic ingredients salads, fruits. You can vary what you do, you can change some of the ingredients, and make them smaller quantities.
Chalky
Chalky died a while ago now. I have a dog Spot and the vet said he has a heart murmer.
GREAT FOOD LIVE GOING OFF AIR
I laughed too and then cried my eyes out at the end. I am sure Jenni will turn up soon on our screens!
RICK STEIN SHOWS - HOW CAN THIS BE STOPPED FROM BEING SHOWN AD INFINITUM??????
Rick Stein is brilliant, I can never get enough of his shows. The beautiful scenery of the British coast and the fresh seafood, there has never been a food programme like it. Fresh seafood from Britain! I live on the East coast, and we do not get all the seafood that the west coast gets.
Ina Garten - Barefoot Contessa
You can also get the plastic type muffin tins, where you don't need to line them. Ina seems to make everything easy. I enjoyed watching her in Paris with Jeffery this week.
The last show
Enjoyed your show yesterday Jenni, fantastic! I cried with you I had a box of tissues with me. Good luck and thanks for all your hard work to make the show such a success. See you in another one soon. Enza and family.
Frank Bordoni's restaurant
Hi Frank, I would certainly try your restaurant if I was in your area. I am sure the food would be as good as you are on the programme.
Ina Garten - Barefoot Contessa
I enjoy her programmes too. She makes everything look easy. A few recipes need ingredients that are not readily available here. She uses cups for measurements which is a lot easier, than weighing everything. She makes lovely pop ups, yorkshire puddings I presume?
End of Show
I will miss her and everyone else will, come on Jenni what will you be doing next. Don't keep us in suspense, we should know as we are all your fans!
Return to Tuscany
Great programme, enjoyed it, can we have more please!
wheat free
Tomorrow Paul Hollywood is making gluten free breads, so there will be a few recipes there tinkbell.
Meet Ann Maurice, the House Doctor :cheeky:
Anne I think your the best designer on TV, I am so glad your back on UKStyle channel again. I could watch you every day, you always transform a house, and they are transformed to everybody's tastes. You know exactly what to do and where to put everything, from pictures to furniture. Please keep up with the series never stop or my life will be dreary again.
Food Uncut
So we are going to get royals, teaching us how to cook?
Replacement Programme for GFL
Sorry rephrase that, I typed it out incorrect, it would not be as popular!
Replacement Programme for GFL
We know you do not like Jenni, but I bet it would be as popular as GFL, Glynpaul,Tana has not the makings of Jenni!
New Job with Food
Hi Snowlight, I am not employed by the store, I am employed by IQFM Ltd, you have to get in touch with them, about your product.
Cleaning up after painting
Have you tried using rollers? They do not splash like brushes, also I use cling film to wrap them up in, when I want to use them the next day!
Will you be doing another show
What show are you talking about pogster?
House Doctor
I really miss the programmes with Ann Maurice, why isn't she making any more? Please make more please Anne, your the best.
New Job with Food
I have just started a new job as an in-door-demonstrator. I have to make people sample products that supermarkets are promoting. I demonstrate cold foods ham, cheese, cakes, bread etc. Being interested in food, and watch GFL, I am very glad to have this opportunity. I also promote small farms who sell their cheeses etc in our store. So I am also supporting the small farms. Sampling their products one gets to know the best foods.
Greetings from Australia
Jennis show will be axed in March/April. Look on gfl messageboard.
Good restaurant in Brighton, East Sussex
My partner works in another restaurant, in Brighton it is La Capanina, Madeira drive just near the Sea Life Centre, he is called Alfredo the chef. It is inexpensive and has a cosy feel to it. It is Italian and they make their own pizzas in their own coal fire oven.
pepperpot stew
Alan Coxon delicious recipe with peppers, I will certainly try it proper winter food.
Frank Bordoni's restaurant
And you get to see Frank as well, good evening! Shame I live to far away to go.
Replacement Programme for GFL
Jenni will I be sure be in another food programme maybe on ITV or BBC1, we won't see the last of her, you bet!
Eastbourne eatery?
We went out in Brighton last night, and found the Fish Brasserie in the marina. I would recommend it, lovely atmosphere and very good service, food was good.
The perfect lunch box
What all good ideas for lunch boxes, will give them all a try, thanks.
jenny barnet
I like Jenni's clothes, does she have a personal stylist to choose her clothes? I dont' like the tops with trousers she wears sometimes, accentuating her figure, baggy tops are better.
Whos to blame for obesity??
Thats right I suppose, why do parents moan they don't have enough hours in the day to cook for their kids?
Whos to blame for obesity??
I agree with a lot of what you say, but putting all the blame on parents is not the answer. If maybe there was more time for the mum to be at home and start cooking from first thing in the morning, so the child could have a balanced dinner, when they get home from school. They wouldn't go and buy junk food from the shop!
A good cooked meal everyday would stop kids buying junk, sweets etc.
Whos to blame for obesity??
Adverts on Tv, shops sweets chocs. How can it be the parents, we are just as bad as the kids! The moneymaking industry is to blame, but they are changing, Walkers crips made with sunseed oil, healthy mueslie bars etc.etc.
What do you call your evening meal - dinner, tea or supper?
Hi Gracia are you still in Africa? I think that is really true what you said dinner is when you invite people over, when you are on your own, its supper.
What do you call your evening meal - dinner, tea or supper?
My family are from Italy, they have a slight difference to us:-
Collazione - breakfast
Pranzo - dinner
Te' - afternoon tea
Cena - Supper
Of course in England it depends where your from and what traditions you have, we slightly differ from North to South.
Most patronising tv presenter
Alan Coxon is delicious and knows so much. He explains the science bit about food which is a very good thing! Hi Alan! Nice to see you yesterday with the celebrations!
James Martin
He is also on every sat morning on BBC1 Saturday Kitchen. He is a dish he seems to get better all the time, his cooking I mean

What do you think about our scheduling?
Giorgio and Tony please. We haven't seen those two together for a long time!
summer live
Is it because he gets on so well with Jenni? I like all the prizes they are giving away, but I never seem to win anything.
Here's a chat topic...
Well Angelina are you asking or do you know?
First having exactly the right amount of ingredients, whether it is measured or not. You have to know exactly the right quantity. Also the amount of cooking time is extremely important. Another fact is good quality, food which is grown, not necessarily organic, but fresh and not stale or near stale. The most expensive should be the right one, but, if you were watching Food Uncut, thats not necessarily true. So No 1 - good quality. No2 - Exact amount. No 3 - The exact cooking time.
Holiday Food
I agree hartfelt, you should try the local food when abroad. Your husband is not adventurous enough, I would go on hols with my friends. I bet he is ignoring you with the football now?
Did you see Paul Rankin, JC & co on X factor?
The singing chefs, JC was having a great time, they were very entertaining and seemed to enjoy it. Though I think they should stick to their day jobs.
Cars and food
Hi all, hope everyone is well. My car is fixed but it may need more work done to it.
Congrats to Tina again!
Cars and food
Hi Fudges mum I used to post on here as Enz, a good mechanic are very hard to find nowdays. They charge alot of cash and I still am

COULD YOU LIVE FOR A WEEK ON A TENNER?
Funny that we haven't bought bananas for about two weeks now, we just have gone off them.
Organic veg boxes
I have found a marvellous farm, Middle Farm in Rye, Lewes, they have all local grown meat and veg, all organic of course. All fresh and tasty, just two miles down the road from me, and fresh jersey milk. I will do my shopping there from now on.
