removing scratches from furniture

Due to my job we have moved a few times and our dining table , chairs and sideboard have a few scratch marks.
the scratches are not deep or too big (2-5 mm) but there are a few. Apart from spending money on french polisher is there another way? I have tried wood stain from B&Q but the colour does not match.
I am hoping to firstly clean up the furniture then to stain it. Any help would be appreciated Regards Confused

rusks cake / rusks

Thank you Mosey, I tried it and it was fine although I prefer them to be more 'crisp' or 'dry' (I am sorry but english is not my first language but I hope you understand) - any ideas!!

does anyone know how to make CAKE RUSKs

Thank you Tina6 Although biscotti is the closest to it uptill now but its not it. I agree that there would be a 'european' name for it but in south asia these are called 'Cakerusk'
In simple language it is something like a madeira cake which is baked to be rusky in texture ie brittle and crisp not soft. Confused

a cake rusk is like a basic cake - yellow in the inside and brown crust (Madera cake) but that is soft while a cake rusk is crisp like rusks and is yellow /brown.
If you live in an area where you will have Asian shops you will be able see what I mean.
I feel it is a dired version of that basic cake but it is made crisp and not let to sit out in the sun to dry.
