Sprouted bean ussal

Anjum Anand’s mixed bean and vegetable starter combines an aromatic mixture of spices, with a hint of coconut
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
- ½ Onion, peeled and chopped
- 1-2 green chilli, whole but pricked with a knife
- 3 large cloves Garlic, peeled and chopped
- 12 curry leaves
- ½ tsp Salt, to taste
- ½ tsp ground Turmeric
- 1 Tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 250g mixed sprouted beans, and lentils
- 1-2 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp desiccated Coconut
- 1 tsp roasted Peanuts
Method
1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard and cumin seeds and fry for 1-2 minutes, or until they begin to pop and crackle. Add the onions and chillies and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the onions are golden-brown.2. Add the garlic and curry leaves and cook for a further 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is softened. Stir in salt, to taste, then add the turmeric and the tomatoes. Stir in the garam masala and cook for a further minute over a low heat.
3. Add the mixed sprouts and beans and cover with 200ml of water. Bring to the boil, then simmer over a moderate heat for 4-6 minutes, covered, until the sprouts and beans are tender.
4. Remove the lid and cook for a further 3-4 minutes, or until most of the liquid has evaporated, then stir in the sugar, coconut and peanuts. Stir well and serve.

In Sydney Australia, Tuesday 15th Sept 2009, I just saw this episode with this recipe & I just tried to find it in Market Kitchen 'Food for a Fiver' NO LUCK then under "Sprouted Bean Ussal" (CORRECT SPELLING BY THE WAY) NO LUCK then I finally find it in Anjum Anand & LO & BE HOLD it was spelt Sprouted bean ussal I tried it again with capitols on the 1st letter no such recipe YOU REALLY DO NEED TO SPELL IT CORRECTLY which I thought I did
