Get the party swinging with Allegra McEvedy’s Caribbean punch - try varying the recipe with guava juice or passion fruit syrup instead of orange or pineapple

Ingredients

  • 125ml white rum
  • 125ml dark or navy rum
  • 75ml orange liqueur
  • 350ml orange juice
  • 350ml pineapple juice
  • 75ml lime juice
  • 75ml grenadine
  • 1 tsp Angostura bitters
  • ice cubes, to taste

To garnish (optional)

  • maraschino Cherries, to taste
  • wedges of limes, to taste
  • Oranges, slices, to taste
  • pineapple chunks, to taste
  • pineapples, leaves

Method

1. Mix all the punch ingredients together, except the ice, in a large pitcher or bowl.

2. When you’re ready to serve, fill a tumbler with ice and top with the punch, stir and garnish with maraschino cherries, lime wedges, orange slices, pineapple wedges and/or pineapple leaves (if you wish).

3. Alternatively shake the required amount for each serving in a cocktail shaker and pour into a tumbler to serve ‘straight up’ (without ice) or ‘on the rocks’ (with ice).
