Ingredients
- 400g caster sugar
- 240 ml water
- 1 handful blanched flaked Almonds
- 1 handful edible gold leaf
Method
1. Heat the sugar and water in a pan over a medium heat until caramelised (the sugar will darken slightly).2. Add the flaked almonds and edible gold leaves into the amber mixture. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly, put still maintain a pourable consistency. If it becomes too thick, reheat the mixture.
3. Roll out onto a greased and lined baking sheet and leave to set.
4. Peel off the dried caramel sheet and break into pieces.
