Matthew Fort’s recipe for this classic tangy and creamy Slovenian salad is as refreshing as salads get
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 2 Cucumber, finely sliced
- 3 tsp Salt
- 1 handful Dill, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Soured cream
For garnish
- toasted caraway seeds
Method
1. Mix the vinegar, water, sugar and black pepper together in a pan and bring to the boil, then remove from the heat and leave to cool.2. Place the cucumber slices in a bowl and sprinkle over the salt. Pour over the vinegar mixture and place in the fridge to marinate for two hours.
3. To serve, stir through the soured cream and the chopped dill, and scatter over the toasted caraway seeds.
