Rachel Allen gives steak a fiery kick with a good dollop of homemade horseradish sauce

Ingredients

For the horseradish sauce

  • 3 tbsp grated horseradish
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 225 ml softly whipped Cream

For the steak

Method

1. For the horseradish sauce: mix the grated horseradish with the white wine vinegar, lemon juice, mustard, salt, pepper, and sugar. Gently fold in the softly whipped cream.

2. For the steak: fry the steak in a little olive oil for a couple of minutes on each side, or until done to your liking. Serve with the horseradish sauce.
