Stud the halved orange with cloves and add to a large saucepan along with all the remaining ingredients. Bring the contents of the pan to a simmer and cook over a very gentle heat for about an hour or so. Serve straight from the pan in mugs.

Ingredients

1 orange, halved
8 Cloves
1 bottle everyday Red wine, preferable a ‘spicy’ variety
1 lemon
3 cm root ginger, peeled
1 x 4 cm cinnamon stick
500ml orange juice
Sugar, to taste
225ml Brandy
