Salvatore Calabrese gets fruity with this potent maroon-hued cognac and blackberry cocktail
 

The godfrey cocktail

Method

 
1. Pour the cognac, orange liqueur, blackberry liqueur and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker. Add the blackberries and about a tablespoon of crushed ice.

2. Vigorously shake to break down the berries and release maximum flavour. Quarter fill a glass with extra crushed ice and strain into a glass.

3. Thread a blackberry and mint leaf onto a cocktail stick and use to decorate the cocktail.

30ml Cognac
15ml orange liqueur
15ml blackberry liqueur
15ml lemon juice
4 Blackberries
crushed ice

To decorate

1 blackberry
1 mint leaf
